2 calls in 2 weeks - one caller says he's calling in response to a survey that I completed on-line (I hadn't done any surveys), and the other caller said that he was calling about a job that I applied for on-line (I hadn't applied for any jobs)

Called my cell, I answered "hello?" ...and after a few seconds heard a recorded "goodbye" in a creepy female voice... Called back and the recorded answer said I reached a company called "WN Positions ", and asked for an extension, and some wah about being taken off their calling list. I never registered my number or interest with them. This is probably a demographic number verifying scheme, catering to telemarketers and such.
