  • Someone from this number called our land line, and it showed up Consumer Telcom?? She was speaking Spanish and then mentioned my middle name, which I never use. I said "I don't understand Spanish," and was about to say more, but they hung up. They are probably scammers. From reading the other posts, it sounds like it. Wonder what sort of people work at these companies? I guess they get paid good money to treat us like this.

    I had the same call just now.  Said it was consumer telcom in the caller id.  He told me that they were going to reverse charges on my long distance phone bill.  Asked if I was the person who was responsible for the phone bill and then hung up.  Since I don't have LD on my phone, there would be no charges, and my phone company has always been very good at ID'ing themselves, not to mention, the company name comes up in the caller id box.

    Got a call today from them - we have a business number. The guy on the other end said something about giving us back on credit on the long distance. He wanted to speak to the owner. Told him the owner wasn't here today. He didn't say good bye or anything, just hung up. And after reading all of the above, I'm thinking this is a SCAM!!!!

    I received a call from this number with a woman stating that she was calling regarding some long distant charges on my bill. I asked her what phone bill she was referring to. She stated it was the phone that she called. I told her that it was an office phone and I was in the office and she hung up on me.

    Hi,Call block didn't work for me in this case. Its Consumer Telcom, a scam phone long distance company in Las Vegas Nevada.     We received a call from this number today with someone claiming we charged an overseas call to them and owed them $1200 but would settle for half. My husband just laughed. I'm going to report it to the better business bureau I guess.

    I did find out about the complaint that I made earlier about Consumer Telcom. I called my phone company and talked with an operator. She had several calls this week concerning the same company and the type of phone call. She checked with those in higher positions and found out that this is a scam.

    Dean Operator 128 called & said that our local phone bill of $12.95 was being reduced to $2.95 because of our low usage of long distance service & that this was because a lot of people were switching to cell phone & other services. She asked for my name & I told her that she should know my name since she had my phone number. She said that all she had was Jack Bobbitt & wanted to know if I was Mrs. Bobbitt. I told her yes. She asked if I liked the new rate & I told her yes. After this phone call,I than called told CenturyLink, which is our phone company, & asked the operator, Pamela, if Central Consumer Tel-Co. had anything to do with CenturyLink and told her what I had been told & she said they did not. She asked me to hold on for a minute. When she came back she told me that our phone service had not been changed. I asked her if I needed to report this to the police and she said that we did not.

    Reversed look the number.  It is a land line out of Las Vegas, NevadaDefinitely someone trying to gather information.  They had called my house several times and I answered and did not speak.  Anyone who knew me would have spoken.  I answered after the third time.  I got the "lower my phone bill".  He said he was my long distance carrier and that his records showed that I would be available to lower my bill by $10.  Then he said "all I need to do" was give him some information.  He asked if my phone company was the same as my internet service.  This clued me something was not right.  If you are my "carrier" why are you asking me questions about my service.  They have my bill in front of them, right?  I said, "I don't know".  He asked if my television was included with my home phone service.  I said, "I don't know".  He then said ".O.k. well thank you", and hung up ........ He did not sound happy.  A service provider representative would not have hang up on me and taken the chance I would complain.

    Got a call today.  Said they could lower my monthly long distance bill.  Hung up instead of telling me the details when I wanted to go over them again and said they would mail them to me.  I suppose this deal is not available to people who want to understand it in detail. /s

    This number came up with Consumer Telecom on the caller id.  Said they were calling  about an unauthorized charge on my phone line and asked to speak with who would be handling the phone bill. Asked who they were, told them I don't know who they are so good bye.  My phone service in provided via Verizon, no reason for Consumer Telecom to be involved.

    a man said that my long distance call call with my carrier AT&T was below the requirements with AT&T and that Comsumer Telcom could save $10 on my next phone bill. When I asked him if he was connected with AT&T he got huffy so I asked again if he was connect with AT&T he said no and hung up. I called the number back and a recording gave me a customer number for Comsumer Telcom so I called that number (1-800-872-38110 and I recording asked for my phone number when I gave my phone number it hung-up on me.

    I was working on my ads4profit website when I got this call from 702-260-6126.  The man asked "Are you C..." and I said "Yes, who is calling?" but just after I said "Yes" I noticed that he hung up.  This is not the first time that this same man has called and asked the same question and hung up.  I think they are investigators or a PI.  I have no idea why I would be investigated for or really what it is that they want. I think it time to call the FCC and report this caller.

    I have received approx 7 calls from this number already today 3/26/10. I actually had the number call on the first line and then the second at the same time? When I answered there was no response and the phone just hung up. This makes absolutly no sense. If I get a hold of someone I am going to tell them to take me off your calling list!!!!!!

    3/19/2010 - received a call from a woman. said this was concerning my Capital One account ? I have NOT credit cards I want no credit cards ! Let alone from Capital One ??!! They deliberately get you in financial trouble & our government just allows it to happen to too many people !!This isn't the first call nor will it be the last !     This number calls us repeatedly, several times per day. They always hang up on me when I answer, but today someone on the other end actually spoke! I answered our house phone just a few minutes ago & a woman informed me that there has been an "extra charge" added onto our long distance plan or something like that! I said "WHO IS THIS?" as rudely as I could. She then asked if I was the person who's name the long distance service is in. I told her no & she hung up on me! This is definitely some sort of scam because she didn't even know who we have our phone service through & she never used our last name or anything. If she was actually from the company we have our service through, she would have said so & it would have shown up on our Caller ID. Instead it said "Consumer Telcom" when she called us. I'm letting people know about this because it's a scam & these people are up to no good. They must be looking for people to rip off through their long distance service or something like that. I gave her no information & she won't ever get any because we will refuse their calls from now on. If you get a call from this number, beware!

    Telcom is calling probably to sell there service.  I believe it's an autodialer that is calling and hangs up if there isn't an operator ready to be connected.
