claims from Jersey City Police Dept. calling Westwood??

I get many calls from this number too. I now don't pick up the phone unless I know who is calling me. If the call is important from family, doctors or other they would leave a message charities don't leave messages.

Yup...called and left no message this morning but "hello,*****o"  I answer every cop organization the same way when they call: Sorry, but I gave a cop 15 years of my life and he left me for someone half my age. I think I've paid my dues there! Then I **** up :-)Doesn't do a bit of good, but man it feels good!

Calls saying they are collecting for NJ Policemens****o.  I was told the the****o. does not collect by phone

This number showed up as one of my "Missed Calls" while I was away from home, but left no message. I'm glad to find out it's a scam.

THIS NUMBER 201-204-1294  IS A KNOWN SCAM.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION.  THEY ARE ASKING FOR MONEY.  THIS IS A ILLEGAL, BOGUS, BULLL**** ORG.  SCAM, SCAM, SCAM.

Guy just called my house and I answered it before I realized who it was.  I lied and told him my brother-in-law is a Jersey City police officer and he handles all my donations.  He sounded a bit nervous then ***g up as I was saying thanks anyway!

I informed this guy he may want to google the number he is calling from so he not continue to look ******.  He claimed he did not know the number he was calling from?!?!  Anyway, thanks for the info

Call from 201-204-1294 while I was out.  The caller name is "New Jersey". No message.I have call intercept which means that this call shoulld have been automatically cut off!

This is not the Police Department calling you for donations. It is a professional fundraiser calling on behalf of a police union or****ociation. The Paid fundraiser can take as much as 99% of your donation. Then they use that 99% to call you a***n and a***n and a***n for more donations that will do no good for your Police Department or anyone else for that matter. Your best bet is to **** up the phone and if you want to give to the police then call your local police department by getting their number out of the phone book. Also got a call from them... big fundraising operation.... on 11% goes to charity.. they have a gazillion charities that they call for...  wow..

Who is the owner?

They called my parent's house asking for me and wouldn't leave a msg. I called the number from my cell and he didnt even ask for my name before going in for the sell. I said I couldn't do anything at this time and asked to take my parent's number of this list he just said 'ok' and went quite. It sounds odd.

call from a man with deep voice claiming to be from the police department. I said that it was very late to be calling (8.30pm) to which he replied, "no disrespect, just doing my job, will call another time"and he knew my name.

Asked them to send me the info to look over so I could decide on an amount, and the guy told me "that's not how it works" .....lol and I needed to decide NOW!

I called my local p.d. they checked into it ,they do make calls asking for monies so the can help the police by vest etc.BUT STAY AWAY FROM BECAUSE VERY VERY  LITTLE MONIES GOES TO THEM FOR VEST ETC. WHO EVER CALLS GETS PAID FOR DOING THIS, SO THEY CAN CALL JUST HAND UP AND KEEP YOUR MONEY AND CHARGE CARDS TO YOURSELF DON.T GIVE ANYTHING UNLESS YOU JUST DON'T CARE. MOST P.D. DO ASK FOR DONATIONS BUT BY MAIL SO YOU HAVE THAT INFO AND YOU CAN THEN CALL YOUR LOCAL TO VERIFY

Just got a call from this number a few minutes ago.  Said to me that he works for the NJ Police Dept. Tried to get me to buy a police support sticker for my car costing 50, 65, or 75 dollars.  Said he would send the sticker to my house with the amount that I wanted to pay.   When I asked if they had a website he stuttered and could not answer me.  I ***g up.

The Jersey City Police Department has a web site that leads to a JCPD Foundation.  They specifically say that neither their foundation, nor the JCPD will ever call anyone for donations.  They go on to say that if you do get a call of solicitation, to contact their Internal Affairs Dept.  Knowing the area, this call is coming quite far from any police stations located in JC. It's definately a scam! All I received was a **** up!
