Leave a CommentI put a manually operated switch on our main phone line so I can switch it over to a FAX ma****e when I see a tele-marketer's number on the caller ID (you can also make use of an old computer modem for this). That way all they get is the squeal of the FAX modem in their e*****ems to be somewhat effective at preventing on-going calls. They usually give up after a few squeals (presumably concluding there's no person at that number). Just to be sure, I switch the line back after it's squealed for 10 seconds or so ... don't want to let them think they can successfully send me junk FAXes. #;-))The other things we do:- NEVER answer any questions when you don't know who's calling and, if it's a tele-marketer, tell them to stop calling and **** up (no discussion, just inform then **** up)- use caller ID and an answering ma****e to screen ALL calls ... set the answering ma****e to answer after a large number of rings (7 or more) as many tele-marketers won't wait through that many rings- to combat the ma****e-driven "I'll play you a 3 minute ad" -- MACY's!!! -- strategy, if you're not sure, don't speak when you answer as these ma****es are voice-triggered ... if you don't get some talking from them after 5-10 seconds, just (note the number) then **** up -- from then on, give 'em the FAX treatment- if you can ID the company they're calling for, phone/write the company (preferably an executive in marketing) and let them know that this kind of advertising has only lost them your business and that you'll NEVER react in any other way to tele-marketing... and MOST OF ALL, vote with your dollars (don't deal with companies that use tele-marketers) and let them know that you're voting with your dollars!
no caller id details on my phone and no message left. they called 6 time in the same day between 8pm to 12. they are located at Hasbrouck Heights NJ, i knew these information by tracking them from my phone company.did not call after that day
?
I got this same caller ringing out house. I picked up as I do not have caller ID. There was no voice . . . and I said "Hello?" several times. I did the "last call" routine and entered the number here on Google and found all these postings. Thanks for all the postings .. . this has been very helpful.
UNIT: CID Nortel PreviewDeluxNAME: Unknown name NUMB: 1 201 257 4026 DATE: Feb 4, 4:46pmYes everybody, you must be very careful with these type of calls! The best thing to do is NOT ANSWER THEM. Reasons; 1. Some of thesecalls will lock your line. Meaning that, you will not be able to ****-upyour phone until their TEL SYS releases the call. Sometimes up to2 min. Bad if you need to use 911! 2. Once you answer you have acknowledged you presence on the callers computer network. Confirmssetup for another attack (another call soon rather than later). 3. These people share compiled info about "every easy hit", meaningeverbody that's eager to help out others, with other telemarketerswho run the same type of scams. 4. Many people are paying a big pricefor a simple mistake, like answering a phone. The whole thing isso****ing to beware of! GOOD LUCK
Called at 4:56 PST but we were not here to answer.British Columbia, Ca***a
My kids answered this same call from Smith DNX, I have no idea what the recording is all about either, I just hope we did not press any of the keys! I registered way back when on the do not call list, but I guess some of these guys can get past.
just received the same call, didnt answer it though, so didnt know what they wanted. came here, I agree sounds like a new scam out there.
have received over 30 calls about extended warrenty for car. Very frustrating.
I didn't answer. I never answer numbers I don't recognize. Instead I came on here to see if anyone knew anything about this number. Looks like these posts are all from today... must be a new scam out there. Anyway thanks for giving the info! I use this ****on thing made by Zenith that connects to my phone. You don't even have to answer, you just press the ****on and a recording comes on saying "I'm sorry this number does not accept this type of call, please regard this as your notification to remove this number from your list" and then it repeats itself! :) It's the best! Thanks a***n for all sharing this numbers info!!
Got a call few mins ago they said I won $2600 Sunset vacation. This is fraud call they just want your credit card number, they tried to get $600 dollars from me and then $300 told them I did not have any then a manager came on line and asked for my card number so that they can bill me later to secure my vaction to Mexico yeah right ****** fraudsters
Just received this number. I answered and an automated voice came on about me winning a trip. At the end of the message it tells you to press 1 to receive your prize. I did not. I phoned my telephone service and they explained to me that it was probably a scam where you are charged 9.95min. Luckily I did not press 1, otherwise I would have been obligated with the bill. Just by answering the phone I was ok though. Hope this helps.
Just got this as well...didn't answer, cause I DIDN'T want to register as "answered in person".

I received call shortly after 9AM pst. Caller ID showed it as "Smith DNX". I looked up the area code to find out where the call came from. As many of you may have already found out, the call is from New Jersey. I thought at 1st it might have been some ***g over Giants fan still cele***ting from the Super Bowl. I called the # back only to get this message, "you have reached the telephone # removal system, please enter your # to be removed from our calling list." I get these call from time to time, but this is the 1st and hopefully the last from them. Hope the info help anyone who reads it. Might be worth the cost just to call once and remove your # and rid yourself of a constant headache. I don't know what they wanted, I didn't get to the phone in time to answer and they didn't leave a message.
