ignores the "no call" list

Note that there was an asterisk (*) before the number as it was displayed on my cell phone. The first time I received a call on my cell phone from this "company," I ***g up and tried to call it back, both with and without the * before the number. I could not get connected to any phone. The second time, as the recording was still going on, I pressed "1" like someone who would want to make an appointment to get carpets cleaned. A male voice with an accent from India answered and asked if I had called before. When I asked to have my number removed from the calling list, he ***g up on me.

10:00 am automated call from Diane, asking if I wanted my carpets professionally cleaned. (I'd like to have her clock professionally cleaned!)I ***g up, then looked at caller ID: Unknown Caller 201-312-6043.  Attempted to call that number to inform them I'm on the Do Not Call list. "not in service" was the response. Not even "This number is not in service", but an upcut computer voice message.I hate this stuff.
