Leave a CommentAbout 3:00 p m I was awaken from my nap by a woman who said her name was Cheenie Reyees and she worked for U S Financial Corporation. She said the only cost would be $1.97 and that I would need to pay that with a VISA or a MasterCard. I do not use either. Finally, I remembered that I had an old VISA but it had not been accepted by any company through the Internet because I did not have the cvv # and because the date on it was 09/97. I told her she could try that one. Then she got her supervisor on the telephone and the supervisor s****ed telling me that after ten days, if I did not cancel, I would have to pay $59.97. I said if that's the case then cancel everything. I do notwant the package of materials. She laughed and said they had already run my credit card through for the $1.97. By that time I was screaming at her saying that you mean that while I was telling you not to do anything and that I did not want the package, you went ahead and ran the card? She said yes and told me after I got the package I could just call and cancel. The telephone number to cancel the grant package was another home number and they did not know anything about a grant cancellation. Then, the woman called back and asked for me to get the credit card out a***n and give her the cvv#. I told her that I could not. She said why? I said because it is in the garbage can in the bathroom. As soon as we ***g up, I went in there and cut it up. She was insistance on getting the cvv#. I told her that I had told her****istant that I did not have a cvv# and that was an old card and that her****istant said to try the card anyway. By that time it was too late to call the credit union that I use and make sure that no transactions had been posted and that I could cancel the card.I just now at 6:30 p m on Monday, June 15, 2009, got a call from the same number but no one said anything. I called back and a very nice man answered. He told me that their family had been receiving calls from people like me who had been called about a grant and the two women were very rude and gave them incorrect telephone numbers.I called the telephone company and they told me that they had a lot of telephone calls like mine. Since the economy was so bad people were doing anything to get money. She told me how to put a trace on the call and see where it really came from. That is thru the AT&T Internet site.
