call leaving no message. Call the number, hear music and then disconnected.

These people call all the time. I picked up once to try and stop it. I told them not to call my number anymore, but they keep on calling. Wish i knew how to stop it.

i've also been getting calls from this #...sometimes as late as 9 p.m..and on a weekend !!!!.....is it the bergen record???...help

Calls 2 to 4 times a day even on weekends. I answer and no one's there. STOP CALLING! I don't want BERGEN RECORD newspaper. And I am telling everyone I know about this and not to read it.

bergen record know has an alternate number to harasse people i will be filing complaints a***nst this company.

They keep calling and **** up when I answer--if they don't want to answer, why not just stop calling. Am on the do not call list, but that doesn't seem to stop these folks.

I have been receiving about 6-7 calls daily. When I answered the other day--silence.  Call the # back and either no answer and it just rings. These calls have been coming for a few weeks. BERGEN RECORD---STOP CALLING ME. I'm on the Do Not Call list.  Lot of good it does!!

IF in fact this number is the record, which i suspect it is - because I remember someone NOT ****ing upon me, then I am severly ****ED OFF.  When I moved to NJ I went to subscribe to the Record and wouldn't you believe, I paid for the paper and never received it - they never followed up with me or anything and I had to hound them and cancel and get my money back - and THEN a year later they tried to sell me the paper a***n!!  This is their customer service number 877-954-6397 - I am going to harass them like the do to me.! FUGGERS

C.F.MI too just cancelled my paper from the record and have been receiving these phone calls left and right from C.F.M.  I activated the call trace on my phone by dialing *57 which sends it directly to the police station. I advise everyone to do the same.

I was getting an average of 4 to 5 calls daily from this number since I cancelled my Subscription to The Record 2 months ago. When I finally spoke to someone I explained I am on the "Do not call list" and he agreed to stop calling. Now I am getting the calls on my cell phone and they **** up every time I answer. I also googled this # and I see I am not alone here. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to stop this?

This number called me 4 times today, each time no one responded.  Just silence.  When I called the number back, I got a busy signal.  I called back one more time, and a man answered.  He said, " You've got the wrong number."  I said, "YOU are the one who has been calling ME!!  Stop calling me!"  He said, "I'm sorry sir, I meant I have been dialing the wrong number."  I ***g up, but now I'm finding all this weird stuff on the internet about this phone number.  It's creeping me out!

I got four phone calls today from this phone number, and each time I answer it there is no one there.  Just silence, and eventually they **** up.  I tried three times to call them back and each time I got a busy signal.  The fourth time, a man eventually answered and he said "You have the wrong number."  I said, "It's YOU that have been calling ME!!  Stop calling me!"  and he said, "Sorry sir, I meant I have been dialing the wrong number."  I just googled this phone number and I'm learning that many people are being harassed in the same way.

Yep, got a call tonight (8:04:23 PM EST) but didn't answer.  Came up as CFM on our Phone Tray Free ID.  Don't know who that is, but we did get The Record a few days ago (not subscribers).  Someone else has suggested it's The Record.  My husband recently re-subscribed for the Herald-News, but we haven't paid for that yet, since they NEVER put the paper where we've asked them to put it.

Answer phone, and there is silence on other end.  Received 2 calls this morning, within an hour.

We also got incessant calls from the Record.  Then I reported it to the Attorney General's office of NJ since this number is registered to the DO NOT CALL list.  After that we received one voice solicitation.  Then we s****ed receiving the exact same phone calls described on this website: I answered the phone and there is faint noise in the back ground, but no on speaks.  *69 reveals that it is 201-474-2989. I called and registered it with the local police dept.  The officer told me to dial *57 in order to flag it in Verizon's system.  I encourage you all to do so in order to have it do***ented.

I had cancelled my Record subscription.  They billed me 9.00 for newpapers that I didn't want.  I only paid for a certain amount.  They sent me papers and now expect me to pay.

Got another call from this number. It was about the Bergen Record. They must use an auto dialer because when you pick up the phone there is silence, if you wait a few seconds someone will answer.  I told them to stop calling me and I wanted to be taken off their list.  The caller told me he would add me to his Do Not Call List.

After cancelling my subscripation to the Record, I have gotten a few calls from this number.  When I answer the phone, there is silence on the other end.  This is not only rude, but extremely unprofessional.  If this is the way this once respected newspaper is doing business, perhaps we should all cancel subscriptions to this paper and put it out of business.  Or...perhaps this information can make its way to the circulation department to****ure that whomever is responsible for this practice finds his/her way to the unemployment line.

This is  telemarketing for the Bergen Record. They called me twice a day for more than a week.How rude.

Got a call from this number this morning, and I didn't answer as I didn't recognize it or the "C F M" that Caller ID reported.  A woman just left a "Hello? Good morning!" on the ma****e, then ***g up.  Guess I'm glad I didn't answer...

I have been getting several calls from this number since 2007-09-03. How can I stop these calls?! Please post if you know. Thank you.
