When answer, the guy told me that my credit information has to be updated, so I suppose it's a spammer or so****ing wrong.

I called the number back and it was the New York Times

Called for several evenings no message. Pick up and no one is there.

I received a call from this number - the woman said*****o, and then ***g up.

I keep receiving from this number and I tried to  take myself off of their list, but I could not talk to an actual person... how did you take yourself off the list?

I just called "customer care" 800 698 4637 and told them to put me on their "do not call" list, which apparently is what I should have done in the first place.  Effing s***.

Yeah, I canceled my home delivery a couple of days ago (of course I had to argue with them) and now they are trying to call me every day.  *ssholes.

I answered and ***ody spoke.  I canceled NYTimes recently also.  I don't know if they think they're going to c****e my mind or what, but they have no chance if they don't even fricken speak when I pick up the phone.

Add me to the latest list of people being harrassed for stopping my New York Times subscription. The number is 201-750-5498. Anyone up for a class action suit?

Got a call, just one ring, with no message this morning. Not so coincidently, I canceled my NYT subscription late last week. Hm. Can anyone say "retention"!

the NYT's called me twice from this number and didn't leave a message. i canceled my subscription a few days ago because the newspaper never showed up in two months (even though contrary to my numerous complaint calls, they've been charging my credit card). then they gave me a hard time as to why i didn't want to pay to receive the paper anymore. because i never got it!!

The past week I have been getting calls from this number at various times of day.  I do not answer them.  No message is left.

Did not answer, but also just cancelled my NYT subscription (had this problem in the past once before when I cancelled a few years ago).  They won't give up!

I recently cancelled, got these calls, googled the number and wound up here.  I just called the Times customer service and advised that I better not get anymore calls from this number.  They put me on their do not call list, advised me that effective immediately the calls would cease.  I'll come back and let you know if I get another one.

Thanks for the information, I just cancelled my N.Y. Times subscription a few day ago and coincidentially "someone" is calling me from the N.Y. Times Sales Department. What a waste of time!

This is a new york times sales number.

this is a NY Times number.  If you're receiving this call, you probably just cancelled your home delivery.  The NY Times does not enjoy cancellations.
