Leave a CommentI just got this call too! I knew it was wrong because I don't have an ATM card. Definitely a scam.
I work at a bank. We just got information there is a fraud going around Wisconsin that they will call and tell you your debit card has been compromised. They will then ask you to give them your debit card number and PIN. DON'T DO IT!!!! It's a scam. If a bank is calling you they will never ask you for that information. They should already have it in front of them! The only way they would be asking you for information is if you called them!
Just got this call and answered. Said it was from "park bank" and that my ATM account had been suspended. I am not a park bank customer so I was su****ious right away. Said "press 1 to be transferred to the "security department" I pressed 1. It then asked for my card number. I entered 1111222233334444 as I knew this was bogus. It then said that my card nuber was invalid. I then entered a "less fake" number as I thought it was probably checking the first few digits. I entered 40604212 (my real card's first 8 digits) and then some random digits for the last 8. It immediately ***g up on me. Hmmmm.....
Just got a call from this number on my cell. Didn't answer cause I didn't recognize the number and I very rarely give out my cell.
I got the same call just now while sitting at my computer, so I quick google'd the number and it lead me straight here. I answered anyway while sear****g just to give a listen (was hoping it was a Charter rep to yell at) but sure enough, it was the same recorded message (and badly recorded at that) telling me my ATM card was cancelled and I should press 1 to blahblahblah. Hope this frauder gets arrested.
I got a call from this number earlier. I didn't answer and just let it go to voicemail, but it didn't leave one.
This number called today, I believe it's part of a bank fraud asking for your credit card number. I recieved an email today regarding this type of fraud
Please tell me who this is.
I got a call from this number earlier today. Since I didn't recognize it, I let it go to voice mail. It was a recording so the first part was cut off. The only part of the message I got was "due to fraud we suspended your ATM card, please press 1 to be transferred to our security department to reactivate your account." This set off red flags because it's similar to those recordings that say so****ing is wrong with your credit card and then want to ask for your security information. In the past, I had some legit fraud activity at another bank and it was a security rep that called me direct from the bank, no recording, clearly identified himself and talked with me a while before even telling me what was wrong, so I knew this couldn't be legit. I called my bank and confirmed that there was no problem with my account and the call itself was what's fraudulent. There has been a rash of calls like this recently and they will be sending out a warning to their customers. If anyone provided information to this caller, you should contact your bank immediately to protect your account.
Who is this?
