Leave a CommentI understand having a telemarketing job, it is a hard job, and I was very kind to the person on the other line, but if you don't like the promotion and felt you were forced into it, call 1866***5628. It's the customer service, they will take care of everything.
I, for one, work for one of these companies and basically it's a telemarketing company that works for a CPS. Our job is to inform you that you have been entered into the sweepstakes. Now no matter what you do, you HAVE BEEN entered in the sweepstakes. The job of the guy on the phone is to inform you this. The questions they as you in the survey is not beyond anything a cars salesman would ask. They are asking for preferences so that they don't try and sell you a magazine for old people when you're a 21 year old student. There's nothing wrong with it. The reason they are persistent is because this IS there job and they are paid on commission, so don't blame it on them, they are doing what they are a hired to. I worked for a while in the outbound calls and the main problem that I had was that people automatically would be rude. I did not do anything wrong, what happens is that you're name and number shows up on a computer and I have to go through the motions. NOW, if you're wondering how your name and number got on that list, that is YOUR own fault. Major list brokers sell it to the CPS company which is Central Publication Services, a magazine company. and we are a stuck talking to you.THIS IS NOT A SCAM! The product that they are selling is legit, because where else in the world would you find a deal of buying a weekly magazine, and getting 3 more for free for 4.99. They give you the option to switch and plus you a get a watch. now if you don't want that then fine but please be less rude because the person on the line is only trying to make a living and is not trying scam you. So please stop complaining. If you're getting more then one call, don't yell at the guy on the phone because everything is automated, that guy has no idea that you have been called more then once. If you don't want to get calls from them, stop signing up for ****** things online and don't have a credit card. And if they do call, for the sake of the other guy's sanity, wait for him to finish his first phrase and simply ask to be put on the DO NOT CALL LIST. DON'T just **** up on him or you'll just get another call from someone else in the company and end up ruining his day. DON'T just say I'm not interested, because you didn't even give him the chance to explain anything so of course he'll be insistent. And for the love of god, DON'T insult the guy, because like you, he is just doing his job and trying make ends meet.People like to get things for free but they don't like spending. Companies are then stuck trying to sell things in sneaky ways by offering sweepstakes and deals and paying telemarketing companies to do the ***** work.
I am currently investigating CPS as a trainee for Telesolutions based in Winnipeg Manitoba Ca***a they say they are selling magazine subscriptions for Central Publication Services, based out of D****r Utah. I was hired to sell people 60 month magazine subscriptions for $4.99 a week, but they use a Sweepstakes called the Dream Come True Sweepstakes that they say gives you a chance to win $100,000, A Ford Mustang Convertible, a trip to the Caribbean, a trip to Australia and ***dreds of other prizes. This is called a hook which then leads to you answering a very short pointless survey which then gives them very valuable information about you. Your ***, age ***ct, status, and if you use coupons, have graduated high school and you hobbies and interests. All that info is mainly used for is to help us determine if what type of magazines we should offer you and to better there records as well they ask you if you would like a call back about student loans. This seem all on the up and up but I am a P.I. and have work at legit telemarketing companies, and Telesolutions in Winnipeg is not offering people 1-800 numbers or any call back info to the customer or uninterested people. This is a law and they don't do this. They give a Sweepstakes number that is the same to all the people entered into they so called draw C- 208 everyone with they same number, this makes no sense. Telesolutions International1760 B Main Street, Winnipeg, MB R2V 1Z7(204) 982-0095 H.R. is Dave Keith his number is (204) 982-0095They tell me the owners name is ***din Harvey The G.M.'s name is Darcy They have other locations and tell me it's part of a larger parent company based out of Nevada. As for the number you guys get on your caller ID I wouldn't know about as I was told no number to give people. We are told not to tell you they are calling from Winnipeg.
i have in fact worked there and while to most people we seem to be ripping you off, we aren't forcing anything and legally are sound in what is taking place during a call... however having said that i completely agree that it is TOTALLY invasive and ******ED, but what you need to understand is that even if you go through with the first part of the interveiw you are actually helping that person out in a very very small way, even if you don't 'close to deal'.
I worked for this place. They are total scammers, I didn't work for more then 3 days with quitting! I could NOT scam people like they wanted me too I always said thank you if people said no I was never persistant and I felt bad everytime someone was about to buy! They s**** withHi I'm _____ with CPS in D****r, Utah, This is just a call to let you know that you've been entered into our dream come true sweepstakes, so congratulations! Now the sweepstakes are held every year for preferred customers of Visa, Mastercard, American Express and discover, and you do still carry one of these cards correct? ETCIt's horrible, check this page out, it's from a man that worked there http://www.ripoffreport.com/work-place-bullies/telesolutions-intern/telesolutions-international-to-9b88f.htm
call then **** up when I answer
This is a company that has purchased your credit card name from some where. They say that you are enrolled in some $$??k sweepstakes. They are trying to sell you a subscription to magazines.... for $4.95 / month. They don't come out and ask directly but they want you to buy/give your credit card number. DO NOT DO THIS. I talked with a guy named Kurt who said he was knew and when I asked some direct questions I was immediately transfered to his supervisor, Jordon who I am sure knowing what I know of call centers was standing right behind him already plugged in... a closer.Jordan never directly asked me for my card number, however he did keep asking me why I was hesitant about giving my number out. When I explained in detail the word NO. He said I would get the mailer only if I signed up. So. Once a***n I repeat. DO NOT GIVE YOUR CREDIT CARD NUMBER TO THESE PEOPLE, even though they already have most of your info already. The company name he gave me is: Central Publication Service Division C-107, 12300 South St., D****r Utah, 84020However the number 201-927-5462 comes up as a cell phone from: "Metro Area: Greater New York, Tri-State Region (Bergen County)"
