Leave a CommentGot a call today from this number. Didn't leave a voicemail. I don't have a SSL. Dont' need one. Don't know why they would call me. I hate telemarketers using my cell time.
Got a call about my expiring ssl. looked up the number and figured i call back to remove the number. rep apologized said will not happen a***n i asked who they are and he took me to a few sites and they are a big company. they are everywhere. so i told him he can send me an email but not to let that same guy call me. the company is ok but they need to higher better reps. the one i spoke to was very professional and i could do business with someone like that
Comodo security sales
Comodo security telemarketing call
An update, our receptionist just told me that the sales person used a lot of scare and pressure to try and get to me. Telling our Rec that our network will be in bad shape, etc. if we don't get their service. Our ssl doesn't expire for 2 months. ug, I hate pressure sales.
I just received a contact from them as well. Unprofessional sales spiel, the person said 'Um' and 'you know' approx 25 times in a 2 minute conversation. Gave me incorrect information regarding our SSL. Was slightly pushy, but took no for an answer, so am done with it.
Just some info- your cert &expiration info is public knowledge. We DO offer legitimate services, we are a certificate authority.... cheaper than verisign, with better service. Get educated before you post nonsense!!
call received today, caller ID came up as *DRP Station 86640, left voice mail saying SSL certificate about to expire, call them at 201-716-4468. No names mentioned. Sounded phony. How did they mask caller ID?
they left message before I came to work. They statet in vm 11-27 Estern time. I'm on west coast, we don't work so early on Fridays. He sounded like he knows me well.
yep just got a call from these guys. didn't answer. message sounded fishy. thank god for google!

Apparently it's from a company called Comodo; read this post: http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-201-963-0004

left message identifying themselves as comodo
i received 9 calls in 3 hours, all unanswered by me.
I got a call from a telemarketer from Comodo insisting on talking with our network security person regarding the soon to expire certificate. He would not take no for answer and wanted to talk to our outsourced company. The only way I could get him off the phone was to take his name and number. He kept insisting that the could save us money.
Yeah just got the call also but didn't answer it. So this must be a new breed of spam, spam calls. One has to wonder how much it does cost.
Caller left a voice message. Identified themselves as calling from a company named Comodo. Wanted to discuss our web security certificate (from a different vendor) that is expiring next month. Knew exactly what certificate we had. Offered to save us money.1) Spidering websites to gather information about security certificates is low behaviour.2) Unsolicited cold-calling is low behaviour. The company's motto (comodo.com) is "Creating Trust Online". I laughed.Apparently they have done this before and in that case followed up with an unsolicited "scare tactic" e-mail: http://blog.loftninjas.org/2009/03/12/comodo-is-shady/
