Leave a CommentGot a phone call today fron (202) 391-0961 stating from dep. of treasurey &his name is Chris Walter w/ a Middle Eastern accent. Said I quailifyed for a 8400.00 grant but frist i had to make a 200.00 donation to Wells Fargo as a chairty through Western Union. & when I get to Western Union to call & let him know. SCAM! SCAM! SCAM! God bless America.
I have him my ***king card number like an idiot
This personal called me from 202 - 4054852. I gave him some of my banking account, ( they can never draw any money from this account). Then he gave me a code and a number to call to release the $8400 grant money. However, he is an East Indian "Chris Walter". How can he think that he can run away with this name. If he tells me his name ***ar or so****ing like that, I might believe him. I inquire for the name of the grant. He calls it the "personal grant". A***n, he is ****** to give that name. There are so many personal grants out there. US government is less likely to call it the "personal grant". They might call it the "Obama grant" or some thing like that. Then he wanted me to go to the nearest Western Union to send him $190 as charity donation. Really? Charity? He called it the Indo Charity (a blog set up by some ******). He would not give me the details at all. He told me to give him a call when I get there. What a scam. Dont fall into it.
They tried to get my son to send 120 to them for they can give him 7000 yes a scam.
they claimed to be with some government agency working for the government giving people an opportunity to get back on there feet what it is is a scam so they can get your info they claim they will call you back but never do
Michael Carter called my mom; said he was with the federal trade commission (FTC) and had a sweepstakes from Las Vegas to pay her. He gave the number of 2023910961 to call him back. I talked to him and told him I'm trying to verify the legitimacy of his phone call and asked for his department with the FTC. Said it is not actual department but he works for Abbott McCartney who is the top guy at FTC and that the FTC works to help sweepstakes pay the money that is owed to folks like my mom. (Apparently Abbott does or did work for FTC.) I ask what my mom has to do to collect. And he says so****ing about an insurance policy. I asked him to repeat and he ***g up. This cannot be legit, but the guy is too smooth. Makes you feel like you are really going to loose out. Keeps telling me he can't talk to me ('cause I'm not my mom), but never shuts up. I noticed that on this website Michael Carter's name is mentioned in connection with other phone numbers and deals. Not sure if it is the same person.
My mother got a call from a "Larry Balin" (or "Balion", perhaps) who said he was with Reader's Digest. He told her he was a lawyer who was notifying her that she won $600,000. but to send the money to her, he would need her to send him an insurance check in the amount of 1% of the winnings($6000). He then tried to get her to give her bank account details to him so that he could supposedly arrange her $6000 payment which would then allow him to transfer the $600,000 in prize money to her (yeah, right!). She tried to ask him for his address to see if he'd give it out. He put her on hold to "ask his secretary" to confirm her address - but then immediately told her that his secretary was out of the office. When my mother said that he'd have to speak to her son, he got very defensive and said that as a lawyer, he would not be allowed to talk to anyone except the official named winner of the prize -- so there was "no use having your son call me".
SUPPOSED TO HAVE WON MONEY
Received a call from Mark with the "Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C." They received a "Liquidation Notice from the Las Vegas Dream Foundation" Sounds like other similar scams reported under similar Washington DC numbers
