I finally got so furious I called Verizon Customer Service. Man was more interested in reviewing my service and seeing what else he could sell me so I persisted...referred me to theirUNLAWFUL CALL CENTER.  The woman there took my information and called this supposed American Ins***ute for Cancer Research and told them to stop calling me; they said they would put me on THEIR "do not call" list but that it could take 30 days for it to take effect.I suggest everyone do this; maybe if there is a flood of 'official' callers telling them to take us off their list they will.  Since they are not-for-profit the Do Not Call List does not apply to them, unfortunately.

When I told the woman caller I was on the Do Not Call list, she said that did not apply to her so I do notknow how she is or the company.

I called the # that jiminvt gave, and a woman answered, and transferred me to a guy who said he would remove my phone # right away, he said he would e-mail it to someone.  Hope it works!!  Both were very pleasant to talk too.

Every day we get a call from ACIR 202-607-2805 and I am getting sick of it.  The last few times I have answered and nothing, then I hear a click.  Enough is enough please!!!!!

we are getting calls from this # at all hours and days. they will not answer the phone when you call back.

Thanks for posting the phone number to call and ask to be removed from their list.I called and talked to a guy who had an outrageous foreign accent.  Before I had a chance to ask, he said "Would you like me to remove your telephone number from our list?".  I could hear him typing as I gave it to him.No apologies, but if this works, that will be great!

thank you for posting this! they apologized over and over. the lady said they had hired this company and now they are in a nightmare situation trying to get it fixed. she said my # would be removed in 48 hrs. thank you for posting the number!

After 12 calls in two weeks, and ***ody picks up when I answer, I did some research.  Call 800-843-8114 and ask to be connected to someone who can remove your number from the call list.  The fellow I spoke with was polite and apologetic and mentioned a problem with their automated dialer.

It is Cancer and they want you to forward mailings that they will send you to you neighbors using your postage asking for donations. She said, if we send you the address will you mail them to your neighbors. I told her, if you have the addresses you mail them and ***g up. Muscular Dystropy is also doing this.

This name (ACRI) and number were on my calleer ID today as a missed call but no message was left.  Will see if I receive others as previous posts have indicated.

202-607-2805 (?) has call me several times lately.  Since caller ID was invented, I don't answer these, unless I know the #.

i have received calls for the last three or four days. no messages left and caller id reads AICR; also on do not call list. cannot call from my land line or cell phones

Not for profits as far as I know are not affected by the "No Call List"

Why to they call several times a day, don't leave a message and sometime call late at night? I am on do not call list but the still call.

Caller ID says from AICR private message that could be embarassing etc.  The same message has been left by various other numbers 800 and with 714 CBE GP  ALSO 609, 301 757,866, 845 AND IT GOES ON AND ON ---I can't get it to stop,  I have had my records checked and I always check just fine so whats happening????
