A woman called me and told me that I qualified for a $9000 government grant. She knew a lot of my personal information. She gave me an ID # and told me to call 202-684-6620 to speak with her supervisor to claim the grant. I have filled out paperwork for grants however I know that they don't come on gift cards from stores and I don't ever give out my bank information, especially since the IRS has my bank information already.
A man called me stating he was with the US Grant department. He informed me that I was receiving a $9,000.00 grant for hardship. Then he told me I needed to pay $200.00 for the transfer but it would be reimbursed to me in a $9200.00 to cover the transfer. I didn’t believe him so I checked the number so I am reporting it to you all.
