I called this number back and the answering ma****e s****ed talking about s****ing and stopping delivery. I think it could be a central call centre for a national newspaper. Poor customer service though. If they were legit, they should leave a message for you to call back.

They keep calling me. yes****ay thry said they were from the Ottawa Citizen wanting me to sign up using a credit card. Today they called saying I hadn't paid my bill for some Calgary newspaper - i live in ontario.it's the same guy every times - wish he'd take a hint and stop calling

I had 3 calls in a row (maybe 10 mins aprt) tonght from this number and no messages.  I was interesting to ready to posts about newspaper subscription problems with the Calgary Herlad.  I have an Ottawa Citizen subscription and I had a simlar problem with someone calling me to tell me that my account had not been paid.  When I called the newspaper there was no balance owing.  Makes you wonder what is going on?

Same number just called me as well. I live in Toronto, have never been to Manitoba and have no connections there. Didn't answer the phone.SO WEIRD!

I've had this call for the last week and ignored it until last night when curiousity got the better of me. An East Indian Gentleman claiming to be be from the Calgary Herald called to say they had been unable to process my last 2 payments, su****ion aroused straight away not only by the Manitoba number but as I only subscribed to the Herald the week before - calls s****ed about 2 days later. He told me 4 numbers which he said were the last for digits of my credit card and could I confirm they were correct - the numbers were meaningless, and I****ume a rouse to make me confirm and divulge the full 16 digits. When I confirmed to him the fake numbers were correct he got a little f****ered, and stated that he had just processed my payment a***n and the card was declined, the s***d at which this aleged transaction took place was also incredible. I thanked him for the information and said I'd call the bank. If the caller had been from the Herald I****ume my delvery would have been stopped for non payment, but the caller was too ****** to add this little detail. Calls to the bank confirmed this is a fraud scam and to the Herald that my one and only payment was good. I am waiting too see if the bozo calls back tonight.My concern is that this s****ed almost immediately after the subcription s****ed with the Calgary Herald , so I can't help thinking so****ing may have been compromised there

Same thing... said they were from a flyer company wondering if I got my flyers and asked to confirm my unlisted address.  As I have had problems with receiving flyers in the past, I****ume they got my info from the local paper however still think it is very strange and questionable.

These calls persist with frequency,but there is never anyone responding.It is a nuisance, and very often a safety risk because of trying to answer the call in a timely manner. who is going to follow-up and stop this?

08-JAN-2011 this number has been calling: during the day:  during the evening:  during the weekend.  Only name on call display is MANITOBA.  Never leaves a message. I pay good money for the convenience of a phone - MY convenience - NOT A NUISANCE CALLER.Not able to leave a message - must be trying to sell so****ing that I don't want nor am interested in.

Just answered this Manitoba number as I thought it may be a cell number from someone I may know (lived there most my life). The guy said he was James from Flyer Force and wanted to know it I had received my flyers tonight? I asked what flyers they deliver and he knew. I checked my door and said no. He knew my unlisted address and said they would get them out to me??? I got off the phone and decided to check here since I thought it was wierd the call was from MB. Just tried calling back. Line not in service???? Jan. 7/2011.

204-284-0838 called me and left a message. It was from Bank of Nova Scotia. But when I called it the number was long distance and out of service?

I received a missed call from this number too on Dec 10th and got the same prompt when I called it back. Based on the area code, it seems to be a call originating from Winnipeg Manitoba. I thought that I missed a important call from the CRA etc. but turned out to be junk call!!! ****s!

204-284-0838 called a***n today. No one on the line this time. Same message when you call back. "Not in Service".  Bell Ca***a will not do anything about this type of consumer terrorism. Don't waste your time calling them. They suggest signing up for a call blocking service at ** dollars/month. It is like complaining to Darth Vader about the air conditioning system - they just don't care! Anyone care to comment?

Getting repeated calls from 204-284-0838?  Me too. Called them back. 'Number not in service' is the message. Please report them to everyone you can and stop this fraudulent activity.

Keeps calling a couple of times per week.I have call blocked the number now.

They came to my house and offer a promotion and got a VOID Cheque. They then called from this number and wanted to bill a different amount. Wife got mad and said to forget about the subscription. Both the person that came to door and caller seemed African or similar accent. Beware. Now have to Report it to RCMP,Bank and Ca***ian Anti-Fraud site

I have had this call twice in two days.  I try to call back, but the number is not in service.

I get it repeatedly. 3-4 times a day. They leave no message. This has been going on for a few weeks. They say they are from a local newspaper ( the area code is not even in my province!) and are calling because my bill isn't paid.  I have called the newspaper, who say that my account is up - to - date.

Appears as a missed call on my phone at work.
