GUY BY THE NAME OF JOHN ADAM HAS BEEN CALLING MY PHONE SINCE FRIDAY OF LAST WEEK TELLING ME I WILL BE RECEIVING A GRANT FOR $7500 AND IF HE COULD HAVE MY BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER.THEY GAVE ME DIS FAKE A** PASSWORD THAT DOESN'T WORK.I AM IN THE MILITARY AND WORK IN FINANCE SO ME AND SOME OF MY BATTLE BUDDIES S****ED DOING SOME INVESTIGATION.CA***A DOES NOT HAVE A BUSINESS NAME OR ADDRESS FOR THIS NUMBER SO I ADVISE EVEERYONE TO AVOID THIS CALL.

I recieved a call just now (5-7-08 @ 3:40 pm) from a guy with an accent claiming to be from the IRS and promising to send me a check tomorrow for $3500 - Grant Money to use how I want. Asking me for my Checking Account information to forward the money to me

Received a call from a foreign man named Steve Huddy. Said I had been selected for $7500 for paying my taxes on time. I interogated Steve, sd he was from Social Security Admin office, gave an address as Social Secu***y Admin Grant Section in Clearwater Fla., Bldg 1301..wanted my baning info. I terminated the call. What a joke!

Man (which gave his name as (MAK RUDD)with a foreign accent called my work phone and said he was with the Social Security Administration and needed to verify my bank account info.Because I was eligible to receive $7000. He had my work number and knew my name and had my home address..scary ...I called the local police and they said that this is a scam...I didn't give him any of my info..PLEASE DO NOT GIVE HIM ANY OF YOUR INFO. HE is just looking for a way to get into your bank account.

This just happened to me. They said I would get $2000 because I had paid my taxes in time. I asked if this was part of the stimulus check. The guy who had a very thick accent kept repeating that he needed my information and would not answer any of my questions. I,unfortunatley, gave all the information including my bank account number and routing information. I tried to call the number he gave me to call back and it asked me for a series of numbers in order to get through. I am now in the process of closing my bank account. When I called the bank they advised that this was  huge and ongoing same. THE IRS DOES NOT CALL, EVER. THEY DO NOT EVEN CALL IF THEY ARE GOING TO AUDIT YOU. THEY WILL SEND LETTERS IF THEY EVER NEED TO CONTACT YOU.  NOR DOES THE GOVERNMENT REWARD YOU FOR PAYING YOUR TAXES. NOR DO THEY GIVE YOU UNSOLICITED MONEY.

I also rec'd a call stating I was en***led to a $3500 deposit due to on time tax and student loan payments. He said his name was simon brown although he had a very thick indian accent. He had all my info including my routing number somehow. He also gave the 204-668-1100 number and s****ed to give the 800 number but it was too noisy to hear. when he called it was from an unknown number.

it's not fake guys i'll also recieve a call from the same no. and the person who call me saying that i'm approoved to recieve a grant of $5000 and he told me that i'll get my money in next week and i'll provide my banking information and i got my $5000.

Got a call from this man today! He called my wife's phone and asked for me. My wife stated he needed to speak with me. He called back later asking for my bank acct info i was kinda weiry so i told him i would call him back on monday and he gave me this number. He told me his name was John Smith yea right.!!!!!!! lol.... im work for the goverment and im gonna look into it hopefully we can get John Smith (lol) shut down!

Just an update. These people are calling from Winnipeg, Mannitoba. I found that out by reverse phone look up. I will be calling Ca***a and seeing what I can find out from up there.

HaD THE SAME THING HAPPEN TO ME TODAY. GOING TO BANK TO CLOSE OUT MY ACCOUNT. NOW LET'S SEE WHO GETS THE MONEY. LOL

BEWARE!  This caller claimed to be from the government and we gave our account number but got scared and asked to end the call and the caller said that since we had wasted so much of his time he would deduct 500.00 from our account as a penalty and said "don't mess with the US Government" !!!!

This number is a HUGE scam. Don't fall for it. People are having to close out accounts about these people. They are being investigated by the government.

I got several calls this morning from the the number +02. The guy on the phone had an Indian accent saying his name was Adam Smith. haha. First clue this was fraud. The guy went on to verify my information saying he was from the US dept of grants and that I was eligible for a grant. Crazy that he had my cell# and my address. I asked to speak to a supervisor who then came on the phone and said*****o mate! What govt agent would get on the phone and refer to me as mate? He wanted me to verify my banking information and being that he provided me with a govt ID and call back number I began to and thought. What has the govt ever done for me??? This has to be fraud. I ***g up and tried calling the the number he gave me (204)668-1100. Could not get thru. Long story short. Hope you read this in time. The govt doesnt give grants without applying for them first. watch out.. I called and verified with my bank and they****ured me they cannot get my acct infor with just the routing number as this individual had.

Received the same calls as above. He already had all of my banking info and read it to me. I was very concerned, and I asked for someone higher up in the rank to speak with about this "so called" $3500 the government was giving me for paying my taxes on time.  He began to give me a 1-800 number, which not all numbers were clear enough to hear due to static. I was then transferred back over to this guy (who also could bearly speak English).  I proceded to tell him about the number and he got very irate with me and said he had all the info he needed and I could expect my money to come in within the next 1 to 2 days.  (Yeah-okay) Anywho, the same place called back today stating my grant is ready to be processed, I just have to agree to donate some of the money to poor people and he wanted to have me use Western Union to wire some of the money back to them for a donation.  (Whatever) I was very ticked at this point and told him I wanted nothing to do with any of this and to stop calling and I did not want their money ***ay, so I cleaned it up a little here) He got extremely mad, s****ed speaking a foreign language and ***g up on me.  Needless to say, this is a major pain in my ****.  I had to close out my checking account today, which I have had for over 16 years, and get a new one.  What a Joke.  Watch out people.

got a call from 311, said they were SS giving me 7500$ tax return grant. I went along with it until I called the return number he gave me and it didn't work. I ended up looking this up and immediately cancelling and reopening a new bank account due to it being fraud.

Said I was to receive a refund for paying my taxes ***! If the government gives anything back it sure as***** is not as fast as they are, lol what a JOKE!

This guy calls me from work and says I have a grant waiting, his name is Christopher ID #00315. I Googled the number (204) 668-1100 and got this site. This guy sounded African, possilby Kenyan telling me its another 509 scam. He knew my name and address and somehow this was unsettling. He got agitated by my inquiries and ***g up.

Guy called and said it was SS so i heard him out told me i have a $7500 government grant in my name, then verified my bank info and told them it was $29.95 for a Bank of America processing fee and it will appear on my bank statement. # came up at 331, and the number he gave me to call back was 204 668 1100. He knew my name and address very sketchy!

I to, received a call from this number.  They said I was eligible for a grant and would receive $7,500 within the next few days.  The only thing I had to do was to give them my bank information.  Obviously, I was su****ious and did not comply.  I tried to get as much information out of them as I could, but the man I was speaking to was getting very frustrated with me, it was very comical.

a guy with a third world accent called me on my cell phone saying he was with the federal tax reform dept and that i would get a $3500 refund because i pay my taxes on time. Confirmed my address then figured id hand over my bank account information to him. Asked him for proof, he just kept insisting he was with the federal goverment, gave me a phone number, which i googled while i was on the line and s****ed reading him all the post. Still kept insisting he was the federal goverment and that he needed my bank info to give me my refund.*****o !!!!! the only way the goverment has every contacted me was by u.s. certiied mail. there is no dept of tax reform,hello we live in the u.s., tax reform isnt a word known to us

Received a call from 204-668-1100 on January 29, informing me that I was due $900.00 from the National Treasury Department.  The money could not be mailed but had to be deposit into my account.

You ****** idiots. All of you. 204 is a CA***IAN area code. Therefore, the U.S. Government WILL NOT, I REPEAT, WILL NOT, call from it!

He called yes****ay and said he was from the IRS and told me to go to www.grants.gov to confirm who hewas. Like a ***** i gave him my information and he said 5000 dollars would be in my account today. Then he called today claiming to be another man and said I had to go to Western Union to send 50 dollars to Sat Parkash in Goa, India first then the money would get deposited. So now I am freaking out since God knows who has my information.

Yeah, he just called- foreign accent- I ***g up. He had tried yes****ay, and actually called back! Kept saying "U...S...Government" said I had $2, 500 coming and asked if I knew why. I knew it was a scam and waited until he said, "You can use this money for anything you want and you will never pay taxes on it."

i recived a call saying that i was to recive 2000 dollars because i paid my taxes on time and wanted my bank information said if i dint have a checking account that i could us a family members account gave the call back number 1-204-668-1100 called from 1-213-000-0000

A man called and said that i had been approved for 2 grants and wanted my bank information and i gave it to them they said the money would be in my account today and it was not then they gave me the number above to call and a code password and it came up invalid and now my bank information is out in the air.

I have received numerous calls from this number.  The gentleman has a foreign accent and claims that I am due a $2,000.00 refund for paying my taxes on time.  He says that his name is Ray Brown, and that he is working with the US Government Treasury Dept.  When he s****ed to ask about my personal info, I cut the call off.  This sounded VERY su****ious to me.
