A lady called and said that I owed some money. I never took a loan and I have no credit with anyone, she asked whether I was a law student or not, asked for my birth date, SSN. So becareful about this number.

This is a BILL COLLECTOR. They need to STOP calling me, obviously; if i had money to pay my bill, I would! I have caller ID and will NOT answer when they call me they are annoying!!

A lady called me from this number saying she was trying to collect a debt from a company I hadnt used. She wanted my last 4 digits of Social security number I wouldnt give it to her. I think there Scammers.

Old Debts--real or not--well past statute of limitations--t­imes are tough for the bill-collectin­' man! Just tell them to F*** off. Works for me! I doubt their legitimacy--wh­o pays these schmucks in the phone rooms anyway? I'd rather clean toilets!

They call me almost evey day looking for the person who previously had my number. It's Portfolio Recovery****oc. I keep telling them that the person they're looking for no longer has this number and to stop calling. They keep calling nayway.

Daily calls. I've told them I don't owe anyone anything and that w***ver they want doesn't live here. No joke: They've called ***dreds of times. Surely there's so****ing someone can do to stop the harassment.

This company called me and claimed I owed them money from 1993. I asked the name of the company and they stated some bank in Boston. I don't owe any money to anyone, let alone a bank in Boston. I told the woman she must have the wrong number and she became rude. At that point I told her that she's way past the statute of limitations for collecting debt in most states and please buzz off since she has the wrong number. She became really rude so I said goodbye and ***g up. What nerve to call me and demand payment of a debt from 17 years ago, especially since it's not mine. I've reported this number and company to the FTC, Do Not Call Registry, and a few other consumer protrection agencies. These *****s need to be shut down. Lke the USA doesn't have enough issues, we need the s*** of the earth calling to collect 2 decade old debt. This company needs to be shut down and the owners put in prison.

These people call me daily,., I dont know a number,,, I do not answer the phone! I wanna tell everyone that portfolio has like 10 different phone numbers that they use! I heard on the news that they have to stop calling you if you tellthem too! But they still call.. I dont know who to call to make them stop!

I've blocked this number from my phone, however, the call goes directly to my voice mail--they never leave a message.

These people prey on family members. They have various numbers in various locations even cell numbers. Here's how to stop them invest in a whistle or airhorn and **** their eardrums out. Its worth the wait to get them to stop calling you.

Portfolio Recovery call but does not leave a message, even thou i have talked to them before and told them that this is over 17 years old and to quit calling me. when i have talked to them, they are very rude. have filed a complaint with my state attorney about them.

These people have been calling here for a week or more, using several different 800 numbers. I don't usually answer the calls, and they **** up on my answering ma****e, of course. I'm to the point of c****ing my telephone number to get away from these shysters.

15 yrs old the debt is from 1995- my mother and I shared similar names and it is my opinion she used my info to obtain credit card. She also died a few yrs ago

Probably a debt collector, I just hand the phone to my 2 year old and let him babble to them till they **** up. Its actually become a lot of fun. I have unlimited cell minutes so keep calling losers. :)

they claim to be debt collectors but they are not.They are Scammers or people so hard up to get debts paid that if there a million Susan Williams they will call and make seem like your the Susan Williams.I dont owe anything.I cant even get a credit card because I dont qualify and they are calling me about a credit card debt.The FBI should get involved because their practices are unethical.They just tell you an address you have never lived in in order to get you to tell them the real address and then they ask you for your last four digits of your social security so they can get you to pay for Susy that does owe them, that can be who knows dead or so****ing.

This is a debt collector!!! They are trying to collect a debt that is over 20 years old and has been settled by insurance company!!! It is crazy!!!

Portfolio Recovery****ociates is a junk debt buyer that tries to collect on ancient, invalid, uncollectible debts. They've also called me from:620-662-1492205-423-4020731-984-7690620-662-8870757-961-3547757-864-0020Sometime the caller ID lists their company name but not always.

Agreed, and I do the same thing...only I program the random numbers in my contacts as some a**hole1, some a**hole2 and so on....which naturally are set to go straight to voice mail. They never leave a message...yes, it takes a sec to do, but worth it if they ever call from the same number. I just s****ed doing this...so I'm only up to 4, but I'll publish them periodically in case anyone wants to do the same...

So . . . if the original company "sells" my old debt to 3rd-party collectors (with whom I do not have a contract) . . . I simply tell the 3rd party, "thank you for paying off that old debt for me.  Since I have no contract with your company stating that we are in business or that I would accrue debt that I agree to pay them for, I legally do not owe you a penny."  This will shut up most of the callers, but you still get one once in a while that is a b*tch just out to harrass you.

Yea, these guys are A..H...S.  My debt is from 15 years ago. (and it wasnt even a large sum) It is long since gone off my credit reports but these *****s keep calling.  When they call from various numbers, I say*****o, which activates it swit****g to an operator and when they say*****o I either scream loudly into the phone, use a whistle or a bullhorn.  Fight ****** with ****** I say!!  hahah!!

after four months of endless calls from portfolio recovery, now getting calls from this number, caller ID says Anchor Receivables. have no idea what calls are about, i owe ***ody, i have never answered the calls, and i never will answer a call from someone i don't know. so keep on burning the lines PR, wasting your time.

These guys are total A..H...S ..Portfolio Recovery a debt collector..they buy up old debts and s**** their harassment weather their information is correct or not.Apparently some people do get scared into this so they will just keep calling you.They will call from several different numbers also.The best solution I have come up with is that if I get a call from a number that I dont reccognize I just add that number to My Contacts list and set the default ringer to NO RINGER, and****ign a name as so****ing random or a symbol,then if they call a***n I am never bothered and know by the symbol or lack of ring not to waste my time. Its a bit of a hassle at first but it beats being hassled by these *****s.  GOOD LUCK....it works

Portfolio Recovery. Very rude. We don't owe anyone any money and our credit is great. We just got this new number and they guy was sooooo rude. But he did have the name right, it's just that maybe there are others with our name? Who knows.

I got a call from this number a few days ago and after pun****g 9 I actually got a person on the line. I asked for my number to be removed from the calling list. The 'representative' was very rude and actually called me a w*****. I ask for his supervisor and he continues with the bad words, then asks what services I provide. I tell him I don't provide any type of services and ask a***n for a supervisor. He claims he is the supervisor and I laugh. My husband got on the line and he got blessed out as well. Naturally my husband called this caller some choice words as well. But we did not ask to be called and don't even know the company. Obviously a scammer.

No name on the caller ID so I had to use this site to figure out who called.It s****ed with a recording 'Your credit status is okay', then there are various menu options, ending with one asking for the last 4 digits of your social security card. I ***g up and reported them to the Do Not Call registry. We have been getting more and more of these type calls and I am now seriously keeping records and reporting to the Do Not Call site using the complaint form. There is no need for companies to bother us when we have not done business with them.

This number shows up as Anchor receivab on my called ID. They didn't leave a message on our answering ma****e and I do not know who if this number belongs to a creditor or not.
