Portfolio Recovery trying to recover someone else's debt w/my same common name. Fed up with the harassment-proved my claim to Court Judge. He dismissed their "claim" for lack of proof and no identifiable evidence except similar name. Action & case dismissed and they STILL continue to hound me. Horrible-unethical phone practices.

Portfolio Recover is trying to get me to pay a debt I do not owe! When I tried to tell the agent I had proof I didn't owe it, she screamed "Do you want me to put you in jail?" Not professional behavior, and I sure hope it is illegal to do that! Unfortunately, they've put this debt on my credit report. How do we fight these *******$? Is not that they're (Portfolio Recovery) like many other low life debt collectors out there, these guys actually are a**** the more professional debt collectors - hard to believe, isn't it? However because they buy leads and debt in bulk, they acquire old and statute expired debt, right along with legitimate ones. Unfortunately is not going to help their bottom line to try to figure which is which, so they go after all of them. It gets nasty when they work an account for a while and there is no pay off. At that point for all their grand standings, their agents act no different that any other low life debt collector. And no - they will not listen to any arguments about the debt is old, paid off, or not your. All they want is some money (10 to 30 cents on the dollar) so they can get the supervisors off their back and maybe get a bonus. This company is a big one so they know how to get around federal rules. If you want to get them off of you, go through your state's authorities.

IF YOU GET A CALL FROM THESE PORTFOLIO PEOPLE, DOWNLOAD THE APP CALLED "MR NUMBER". I LOVE IT!! HAVE IT ON MY GALAXY S5. BLOCKS THE CALL THE SPLIT SECOND IT COMES IN.. .... THESE PEOPLE HAVE A BAZILLION THROW AWAY PHONES AND 12 BAZILLION AREA CODES.

Yep, its Portfolio Credit. They're the only ceditor who ever calls Every so often to collect a small debt under 1, 500...from literally 2004.

They called me twice ina month and went it went to voicemail I just heard a lot of voices..possibly of middle eastern descent. Iys some sort of telemarketing. Beaut y of smartphones, the reject ****on.
