Social security
Claimed an urgent matter with my SSA account
Could barely understand them, sounded like they were talking underwater. Kept talking about an appointment.
I called the National Social Security Administration. They said if I were to receive a call it would be from my local Social Security office. That this must be a scam call. In over 8 years I’ve NEVER received a call from Social Security. They ALWAYS send everything in the mail. I do believe this is a scam call. SS knows your DOB they certainly don’t need to call & ask you for that information.
Said she was from Social Security Administration. Knew my name. Asked for date of birth. When I refused to give out info over phone she got rude and impatient.
Wanted my bank acct number to deposit my disability check
Nothing.
Requested return call-returned call. I personally believe this caller to be a legitimate call from the SS Administration. Those who got bad calls -maybe the number was ****fed?
Said they were from Social Security and asked me for my date of birth...when I asked them for a return number they hung up

I applied for Restricted spousal benefits about 3 weeks ago. They went over my application and gave me all information that I need to complete the transaction - this is a legitimate call.
It really is the Social Security Office. My friend works there and occasionally calls me from the work phone.
This number is the Social Security Administration in Birmingham Al.
Of course it's legit!
This is not a legal or legitimate call. This person needs to be arrested
Totally a scam. Started out by asking for my social security number!! SS never does this. They know my SS #. Said he was calling about a claim I filed. I have never filed a claim with SS office.
call before 8 am said they were with social security wanted to know if I was ready to begin drawing ss
Yesterday, I applied for Social Security on-line. This morning this person claimed to be with Social Security and wanted to ask for more details. I explained that I was not comfortable with the process considering how the NSA monitors our calls. He said that he wanted me to feel comfortable and would send an email to confirm that he was from Social Security. That way I could call or email back. I told him that NSA also has the ability to send fake emailed in order to gather and file all our information to use as needed. His solution was to send my report to the local Social Security office in the area and I'll go there to complete the process. After hanging up, I plugged in this number only to realize that I've looked this number up before. How I know this is it was still in my web history. On my caller ID it said, "US Government".
This is a good number for social security adm. My mother in law works there is office is in Birmingham Al
They Claim this is the us Goverment
This is the Social Security office Caller ID is US Government
What to know who is calling - no message left.
don't trust this caller!!!
This is the Social Security office of the US Government. Totally legit.
We received such a call this morning at our business. No message left. Also our website was hit by the USGovn. on 3/26/08.
Got a call 3-12-08 7:00am in the morning stated Alabama on caller ID I live in Maryland. Was a man on the other end asking for a woman. My husband told him he had the wrong number. I don't think it was from Social Security Admin.
Earlier this week (5 days ago) after seeing a commercial on TV, I visited the website of a company that markets a product for Identity Theft Prevention/Protection, LifeLock.com. Since then I've received calls from two different numbers, both of which have appeared on this list.Ironically, I have a block on all my phone lines and I haven't been bothered by telemarketers in years, until now. Coincidence? I think not! (My best guess would be Spyware at work here.)Note: The area code is for the northern part Alabama
