Leave a Commentjust recieved a call from the same people. there new number is 206 734 4649. same scam, different numbers 5,000.00 for 312.00. Googled the area code found out they were in Washington state.??? Googled the whole number, it showed fraud numbers from 206 area codes and clicked on the link and low and behold the same scam!!!!!!
These people are running a SCAM!!! They randomly call people (from 970-123-6459) saying they are with the US Government Grant Department in Washington DC. They congratulate them for being selected to receive a grant of $6,000 for paying taxes on time. They give a reference number and tell you to call 206-201-2560 for more information. A guy calling himself Chris Adams says that to receive the $6000 you have to confirm your iden***y by sending $200 by Western union (but will negotiate to $100) to India, where the grant will be processed, they have you hold on the line while they confirm the transfer, then go on to congratulate you as the recipient of this award but that you have to send another $399 to pay the taxes to be able to receive this grant money and they guarantee (verbally) that you will receive $6599 immediately upon their receipt of the fees. They threaten that the US Government will charge you a $2,000 fee for cancellation of the transfer of $6000 and that the Government will contact you directly and charge interest if the $399 is not received with-in two hours. They continue to hold you on the line while the transfer completes and then they **** up. There is no money sent back and they do not return your fee, nor do they follow-up on their guarantee. After all that I went online and found that 206-201-2560 is a land line in Seattle Washington, registered to a private individual. This is a horrible scam, they are collecting thousands of dollars, not paying taxes nor are they running a legitimate program. They need to be stopped!
Yeah I called to play along with them, and said i no longer am interested, to take me off the call list. He said his advocate will call me back to take me to court for waisting the governments time.
I got this call on my cell. Total scam, I called back and he s****ed talking about f***ing my sister, wow total tools.
I Received this unsolicited cal on my cell! I'm reporting this scam!!!!!!!!
I got a phone call from a Ricky Johnson from and he said to call him back at 206-201-2560.I did and he told me to go to the closest western union deposit 200.00 and wait. He told me not to talk to anyone at the western union because they would try and take some of my money and to call him back while I sit and wait for him to deposit my 6000.00 dollars.
They called me and wanted a 200 deposite. I told them i dont have it an they asked how much i had lol
I recieved a message from this number as well, I didnt know what to do so I called the white house and they transfered me to the federal grants department. I was told that grants are not solicited over the phone and I s****ed a case # to have it shut down.On a different note if you are interested in appling for a real grant I have the number and it is a great idea, i want new kitchen cabnits, maybe i will get them :) real number 1-800-518-4726ofcourse its audimated like a real goverment with no time would have. THIS IS A FAUD!!!!! DONT GIVE THEM MONEY
The US Government wants to give me a grant of $6000 if I call back on 206-201-2560 - The caller did not know which Department or Agency the grant was coming from... But they were "U.S. Government Grants" - WOW WHAT A BUNCH OF FOOLS. I told them if it was DOD money I did not want to take the money away from the soliders who needed it buy bullets and bullet proof vests.Eveyone knows the US Government does not have a group of asians in Washington State trying to give you money. The reverse is true - Washington DC is trying to take all our money.... ;-)
I received the same type of phone call as well. He said that I had been chosen to receive money from a U.S. grant and to go to a Western Union to receive it. He said his name was Chris Adams. I immediately reported this to the local law enfornment.
I thought it was pretty fun calling THEM back until they s****ed shouting obscenities and ******ities at me; plus, I got three of them to give me their names: Calvin Smith, Ricky Johnson, and Chris Adams. However this had little more than entertainment value due to the very likely possibility that their "real" names are far more Asian in origin :) So far, I see that the number is from a landline in WA, but haven't found much else yet.
My husband got this call on his cell phone from a guy with a very thick asian accent (not Filipino or Indian) telling him that he won a grant from the US govt and the only thing he has to do is to go to a Western Union office and sent the govt a deposit which refundable then wait there for a little bit and they will return the deposit with his grant money. I asked the guy if he is an IDIOT because I did not apply for any grant and if the govt wants to give me money they will send me acheck! He said it is not a scam, so I said I wll call the police and you can explain that to them and he ****ed up.The sad thing is, when I called the police they said that no agency is taking report or doing so****ing about this type of crime. Although in CA if the victim is a senior citizen, the social services will come and eveluate the victim to see if they are able to live by themselves or should be sent to a group home!
A guy called saying he was from the US Government and wanted to give me $5000 in a grant based on the fact taht I had no criminal record and no bankruptcies. He had my name and address. He gave me a number to call to receive my grant. I asked what ***nck of the US Gov and he couldn't answer me. This is a scam for sure.
I got the same phone call, I ***g up the phone and they immediatley called back, I told them not to call me a***n and he told me he would keep calling until I talked to him and I picked up my money.
They called and I ***g up they called back I told them not interested and they keep calling saying they will keep calling until I pick up my money
I got the same message but figure it is some kind of scam. I listened to try to see what the hook is, but I didn't call the number he gave me that I had to call back "immediately" so I could get my money. I googled it instead and found this.
I was curious and actually called- he gave me the number because I refused to give him my information. Was told to go to my nearest Western Union, and from their phone call the same number, with the access code, and I would receive my $5,000.Only thing is, you have to apply to a government grant in order to receive one.
I get the call on my cell phone from a number 1-111-111-1111 all day and night. I finally get somebody to respond on the other end and he said he is from the US Grants Department and wants to give me my money. He keeps saying the same thing over and over and asking questions. I decided to ask him some questions myself. He gave me a number and a code to return his call. (206)201-2560 was the call back number he gave me. I called it back and their was a recording for me to leave a message with my number and they will get back to me. I told him to remove my number from the call list and he said he cant cause it is from the goverment! How do i get them to stop calling me?
