Definitely a scam. Dialed the number and they immediately wanted my social security number! Yes BECU is a Seattle institution, and so is the area code, doesn't make it legit.

I'm an IT student and the email source it used is very similar to one of our school resource emails that give student pricing on software and electronics.

Received 2 separate text messages on different days with same body text. Asked me to call the phone number listed. Upon calling they said they were the 24hr BECU (my bank) Security department and were seeking my social security number in order to remove account limitations.

I got a text from this number on Saturday December 5th at 2:54pm. It said..... "my banks name"@ some issues with your debit card ID:2643pkxlu I have no idea who this number belongs to. What I do know is that who ever sent this text to me does not work for my bank.
