I got an out of area call from a lady saying that I've been granted an award of $7,000. Great, I applied for a NYFA grant in the amount of 7,000 and notification is any day, so I thought this was it. The woman had an Indian accent and then gave me a verification number and a phone number to call, which I did and spoke to someone, with an equal heavy accent, gave her my confirmation number and then got disconnected. She called me back and said I could get my money in cash, because I'm a responsible citizen and pay my bills on time. I realized that was not the NYFA grant and  I told her I wanted a check to prove a paper trail, to which she ***g up on me and I haven't heard from her since. It is a scam. I hate people like this who prey on people just trying to get by month to month. How do we stop *******s like this? The number on the caller ID is 206-866-5571. They are claiming to be working with the federal governement. **** up on them, curse them out, call them what you want. People like this are disgusting and I hope they can be stopped.

called said i have 7000 all i needed was to give them SSN: I asked Kelly shouldn't you have my SSN if your calling me about a grant!  She didn't have answer  I said if I'm getting a check just send to my address. She ***g up!  Total SCAM

Happened to me today too. got a call from "kelly"Said I got $7000 grant to pay for my school. gave me a confirm code K1304 and was told to call 2068665571 to get my money to me asap options of depositing on credit card, bank deposit or western union but either way I had to pay $210 to them. Luckily I looked in to it first they wanted me to pay $210 western union to verify my iden***y but when I asked certain info like who gave me the grant and who do I send money to they said they don't have that info and that I was to call them back as soon as I was walking through western union doors. This is a scam they will take your money and your s**t out of luck. This phone number and same story is all over the internet. None of them could speak english and everytime I asked a question about thinking they were a scam I was put on hold. probably while she looked up the information to say. she said their website was www.grant.gov well that was a true website but not theirs i called the number on the website they had no clue what I was talking abbout and said it was a scam. they only give grants to organizations and nver a individual. they told me where to report it. WE ALL NEED TO REPORT THEESE PEOPLE COME TO FIND OUT THEY ARE BASED IN SEATTLE WASHINGTON AND HAVE DONE THIS TO THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE THEY NEED STOPPED GO TO.http://consumeraction.gov/.shtml to report scams and frauds of this nature

I received a call from an UNAVAILABLE AND OUT OF THE AREA phone # this morning.  The person I talked to could hardly speak English.  She asked me how I would like to receive my $7,000.  I had a choice of direct deposit or cash.  I told her I wanted cash.  Of course, there was no answer at the above number.  This is my first scam but I was sure that's what it was from the s****.  Thank you to allwho report these scams.

Try to figure out a way to turn them in. I almost fell for it too, just being told you have $7000 for being a good citizen. Geez, they hit the nail with that one. Find websites to turn this company in.

I have read peoples responses from other sites and saw that they actually paid for this. How is that?? Why are you going to let them take your $$ up front?? DONT FALL FOR THIS ITS A TOTAL SCAM. These people just want your money and personal information to steal your money and ID. I almost fell for it until I checked this website and saw that its a scam. Thanks for caring for others and writing about this SCAM. I hope that others will do the same and find this site or the other sites before falling for this BS!!!

I received a call from them stating that I received 7000 and was directed to call this number. Fiona answered like explained below and was asked to go to Western Union and pay $199 to receive the 7000 right back. I dont believe b/c I asked to have the 7000 first then I would give the 199 which Fiona wasn't able to do!! ITS A TOTAL SCAM. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS! If you did receive money from the gov't it would be through a check and not through western union. Crock of S**t!!

someone called me twice with a week about a grant that i quailed for 7000.00 and wanted account information. Told me to call this number 206-866-5571 and then gave me another number ne121. i want these calls to stop

This so called company that calls from the US Federal government grant department is ALL scam!!! This lady (named Fiona, Kristi, or Susan "manager; " whichever she feels like telling you) says that you have been selected to recieve $7000.00 from the government as a grant that doesn't need to be paid back.  She says that her company works directly with western union and there is a fee of $199.00 and within 15-20 min you will have your $7000.  Which is completely untrue, that 15-20 min that your waiting for a comformation call from a "higher authority" they are signing over your money to themselves and you will not here from them a***n.  Try to call the number back after this all went through and there was not one answer and then went to voicemail, then went to busy.... DO NOT DO THIS!!! PLEASE REPORT THIS NUMBER IMMEDIATELY IF YOU RECIEVE IT!! THESE PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE GETTING AWAY WITH THIS!!!

I also did this....im SO upset about it!! She called and said this was from us federal grant department and I was one of a few selected to recieve $7000 with no pay back.  I feel really ******!!!  What can I do?!?

yea i just got a call from them today the said the goverment wanted to give me $7000 yea right i probably owe the goverenment $7000. they said that i was picked for paying taxes on time not filing bankrupts and not having a criminal record.

I got a call from 206-866-5571 and was suppose to give a code access for a $7000 grant to use however we want, no pay back.  Too good to be true?  Probably. Tried to look up "mygrant.com" with no results. Went to getmygrant. Also found another site, different phone # with a lot of responses that all said it was a scam.  After you call and give the code # they want $200 up front.Sounds like a scam.  Looked up phone # and it is in Seattle, Wa.Too bad there are sooo many bad people out there doing their scaming.
