While I did not get a call, I received this in response to my posting for a treadmill on craig's list:Hello,I'm glad to receive your response. I will be making payment with a Certified Cashier's (Check) to cover the cost and also add funds for my shipper/mover to cover the shipping to where it will be needed. I'll arrange for a shipper/mover to handle the pick-up and delivery immediately you receive the check. I just received the same email in response to my CL add.  Beware.

I just got all of the above messages ---I told them if I receive a check I will send it back

Today the person actually sent me a check. On craigslist, I asked for $350 and the check says $980. The person told me earlier, that they added extra funds for a "shipping fee". It was weird to begin with, but over $600 shipping fee told me it was a scam. Also it said that the return address was from New Castle, DE, however, the post office mark said it came from Charlotte, NC. So I still have this person believing that I don't have the check yet and I asked him what the next step is once the check is cashed. I can't wait for the answer. I want to go to the police and give them all the evidence, but I doubt they will do anything. (I might anyway) I really hope they could do so****ing so a more naive person doesn't really get scammed.

Same here - just got this response to our Craigslist ad and I felt the same way - so****ing didn't feel right. Glad I searched it and I'm happy to share this to hopefully help the next person. I received an email from this person in response to a craigslist ad. They also claimed to be s***ch impaired and wanted my phone number and address to stop by and view the item I was selling. Some red flags went up for some reason and I decided to search this number. Glad I did!
