SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME AS ALL ABOVE MENTIONED STORIES!!!BEWARE OF THIS SCAMMER!!!!!!!!!!!

I got the same number and the same email.  I just finished up with one that went through my craigslist ad basically did the same thing only the secretary made a mistake and for a $75 dollar item made out the cashiers check for about $2700 more.  When I got the check took it to the local police dept as well as the bank here and the one it was supposedly drawn on.  All said the same thing.  "Do not parti****te  It's a fake"

Yes****ay I listed some furniture for sale on craigslist and this morning 8/15/09 I received the same SCAM EMAIL. Craigslist should have a place where we could post this email scam. I wonder if anyone got ripped off from this scam? As long as we stick together and share info we should be safe. Thank you to all that has posted their comment on this site.

His english is beyond reading and he is still using the same responce to every ad.  HE NEEDS TO BE STOPPED

Just the way the email was written gave me pause so i googled the phone number and got lots of hits on this number, and like "ticked off" mine was also a listing in the Tampa Bay Fl area.

I got the same email too. I hope others check this out before giving into the scam. Older people may not be as keen to this.

This particular scammer is really working right now. Two more mails of the same since I made this last post. BTW, I am in P***nix. I have been getting in the a**es of the Craiglist admins all day, trying to get them to implement some measures (other than warnings in CAPS) like blocking IPs from nigeria. The answer I got from multiple reps was to just "ignore" it, because there is "nothing we can do about it". I was looking to CL as an alternative to EBay. After 7 years selling on Ebay, I only had one transaction go sour. I posted my first items on CL yes****ay and already had 3 scammers make attempts to get my information on different item listings. You get what you pay (and don't) pay for, I guess. I will gladly accept some fees of a few bucks to list, as long as I don't keep having risks of my entire account being drained.

Same deal. Multiple emails from same name but different addresses (although, the name was mis-spelled between the mails). Craigslist scammers responding to one of my ads. I played into it and told them to go ahead and send the check. The address I gave is to the J. Edgar Hoover building in D.C. (FBI Headquarters) The real way to fight back is to get the scammer to waste their time on you, which keeps them from sending out more scam mail because they focus on you; the one they think they got hooked. just got three e mails from them and i google the number and this site comes up  all three emails said the exact same thing

Yep, I got two emails exactly as above.  From two different "guys".  They are not smart enough to keep from sending two exact same emails from two different people.

Just got the same email response about the def guy on the Inland Empire craigslist. Thanks for letting me know it is a scam...almost sent him my info...

scam they just did that for the rims i have forsale on craigs list. they try to get all your info

Have encountered this scam in Sacramento Ca. also. They use the same language as in previous listed items.

(210)-209-8524 It's a confirmed fact this person is a scammer on craigs list. in Orlando,P***nix,Philly,and Dallas. I have even spoken to the FBI in regards to this person. I have made a website to fight a***nst scammers read it. pass it on..knowledge is powerhttp://InternetFraud.synthasite.com
