They sent me a text message saying (GENERAT1ON F.********1CES) and very ***uely saying my account has been blocked and to please call customer service. I do belong to Navy Federal Credit Union but they had never contacted me that way before, so I was wary. I called the number and I could barely understand the automated system. They never asked to verify my iden***y or anything remotely legit. They never identified themselves as to what bank they belonged to either. All they said was that their system had been updated and as a result, my card had been deactivated and to enter my debit card number followed by the pound sign. My card works fine and I knew that this was a scam and not how my credit union worked. I immediately ***g up. Also, the number that sent me the text message and the number they told me to call were the same and I looked it up and it turned out it is an AT&T Wireless number from San Antonio, Texas. What business or credit union uses a cell number? Please be wary if you receive a text message from this number.
