These people are a joke. Throwing around "officer" Mark Johnson. They are trying to scam my 80+ yr old grandmother. The person who called claimed to be "officer" Kevin Rogers (with a heavy Indian accent. I had to listen to the message several times to understand what he was saying. "Hi this message in intended for ..... This is Officer Kevin Rogers (likely a lie) calling you from (very garbled sounds like) Sheriff Dept (I contacted our local Sheriff Dept and there are no officer's by the name of Kevin Rogers, that work there)(Lie)The reason I call you is because we have received an authorized letter warrant on your social security number, from an officer named Mark Johnson who is working with the Bureau of Scam Investigation Department. So the very second you receive this message I want to get in touch with the "Officer" Mark Johnson on his number 210-390-7810 and see what's going on because if I was you ...(could not understand this part of his message) ...cause then I will have to send my investigation team with an authorized arrest warrant to arrest you on these charges (never said what the "charges" were). SO now if you had the option you can cancel it yourself. My local office our local office is Officer Mark Johnson who made a complaint in your name. The choice is yours. Once a***n this is Officer (long pause) Kevin Rogers Best of luck to you with this legal case file." He sounded like he was reading from a script. But this was just so far fetched. First off my 80+ yr old grandmother does not have any outstanding loans or bills. We have checked with the credit bureaus for anything unusual and there is nothing that is not supposed to be there. We checked with our local Sheriff's department and one there are no outstanding warrants locally or nationally. Plus we have filed complaint with the FTC. This is nothing more then a scare tactics scam. Beware.
