Leave a CommentGentleman with a Mid-Eastern accent informed me that there was an issue with my computer. I promptly ***g up the phone without responding further.
Called me at an inconvienant time. No message. Wish I answered from all these previous posts about Microsoft just for the irony that I am an Apple user.
Tried to tell me he was from Microsoft. When I told him to scan someone else he got very upset and frustrated. Had no re****al to my questions. I just ***g up.
Guy with Indian accent called and said my computer isn't responding to Microsoft updates, and "those updates are necessary to keep you safe." Said they'd been trying to contact me online for weeks (I've received no such solicitations). Asked his company name, and he said so****ing I couldn't understand, and that they were licensed by Microsoft to fix this problem. When I asked him how he got the phone number, he said he got it from my ISP provider. Problem is, he called on a number my ISP provider doesn't have, confirming my su****ion of a scammer. I kept him on the phone a bit just to find out more about his scam. He was obviously planning to take me to some website and "fix this problem," where my computer would have been infected instead. ****. Never trust anyone who calls like this. These c****s are everywhere. This one wasn't very convincing, but some scammers are much better. Always update software and accounts by independently going to the software manufacturer's website, and then only if you trust them. Don't click links provided by anyone, even when they claim to be that company
This number called me saying they were from Microsoft. I did a call back to that number and it went to a magic jack. Then he tried to get me to put Team-viewer on my pc by spelling it out while I typed it in. I wrote it down first but did not put it on my pc. I asked why does Microsoft use magic jack and team-viewer? He couldn't answer so I ordered him off my phone
