I received VM from number posing as IRS, much like comments below

The number is a fake, a phony, a 3 dollar bill.

The IRS will NOT call if they have a problem with you. They will send a letter explain the problem and will give you a chance to contact them. THEY WILL NOT CALL if there is a lawsuit in the planning stage. This phone number is a SCAM!

We have been receiving similar calls stating that a lawsuit has been filed on you and your home address is under federal investigation so before an arrest warrant is issued we must call back on 212-845-9713, and that if we do not return her call we will be charged with Tax Evasion Tax Default structuring, Bank Fraud and interfering with an IRS investigation.

This number is impersonating government agents, claiming charges of Bank Fraud (Which you would have already had you Local PD come to your house if it were true ) As well as claiming Tax Evasion, Tax default etc. And if that were true you would get a letter of Indictment from the IRS not a phone call, much less a voice generating phone call. If some of the other information I've found is correct, they are located in New York, New York area code 10025, but I've not been able to get the exact address.

I received a call today, May 5, 2016, @ 4:25pm, from this number, stating she was from the IRS. There is a warrant out for my arrest unless I call them immediately. She went on to say, the warrant was for tax evasion, hiding****ets, interfering in an IRS investigation, and bank fraud. This is a scam. I left the message on my recorder. Also I forwarded a copy to my local police department and the IRS office.

I RECEICED A PHONE CALL FROM THIS NUMBER POSING AS IRS, TREATENING THAT THEY WILL SEND A WARRANT OF ARREST FOR TAX SUBATION, BANK FRAUD, AND I9NTERFEARING WITH IRS LAWS. THEY LEFT THIS MESSAGE ON MY CELL SO THEY WERE RECORDED .

Left recording today and yes****ay claiming to be from IRS and threatening arrest.

Its a scam... They just called my husband from Nicaragua told to call back to this number. He said he was a federal agent and the ***g up...pure Scam dont give the info

I received a voicemail from this number today. It came through as 505001909000047. department reach number 212-845-9713. stating they were the IRS and stating they would charge me tax division, tax default, structuring Bank fraud, and interfering with IRS laws. That the phone call was being recorded. Then when I asked what this was all about, I was disconnected.

This phone number is a FRAUD, no one from the IRS calls you, they send letters and ask you to call them. Please don't call these people back, just **** up on them or tell them you are from the FBI and the call is being traced. See how quickly they **** up. Thanks for hearing me out.

Called twice today - 8:10am and 1:34pm. Left messages that claim to be IRS and arrest warrant would be served on me if I did not contact them immediately at 212 845 9713. Caller ID showed number as 591 900 0048

Yep complete fraud. Claiming IRS calling you for lawsuit and arrest warrant woudl be served to my property. can not block call becaseu they call form s**** call this last call came in fro mHondurous complete scam

They call u and tell u that u have an arrest warrant out for u and that they are from the i r s. I was crazy enough to listen to them cause I didn't know it was a. Scam until I went on google and found out it is so be careful out there don't answer the call if u do and they say they r from the I r s **** up immediately

Called back, told them I was a Field Agent with the FBI and s****ed asking them questions. A very heavy accented man said his name was "Gene Scofield" - Right. Where was he located? He said Washington DC - I said why are you calling on a land line from New York AAAAAAAWWWWW well. Told him that he had been on long enough for a trace, that he was to be investigated for wire fraud, impersonating a federal agency and that the agents would be there shortly.

I talked to them but had the sense not to give them any important information. I kept asking them what this was all about, they didn't know how to answer. Kept telling them i could not understand them. I guess they realize i was not going to give them any thing. They ***g up .Reported them to the real IRS. I kept waiting for them to asked for money, this guy did,not. But i knew that if he did,then I knew it was a Scam

I also received a call from this number today. Caller ID shows as New York,NY. Automated call saying there is a lawsuit a***nst me and that I'd I did not call back, an arrest warrant would be issued to arrest me for tax evasion, bank fraud and that the IRS would levy my property. This is a complete SCAM and I did not return the call but instead blocked the number. I have been audited by the OR A several times and can confirm they DO NOT call but send everything in writing. Do NOT respond to these people as they will attempt to get your as #, your banking info and anything else they can think of.

I looked the # up online; not the IRS, the # is out of New York. Just thought this info might be helpful to someone else who may experience so****ing similar. I don't believe the IRS has my cell # or that they would play a recorded message when I answered the call!
