I received a stern message on my work phone from a "Michael Davis" at 213-232-4393 telling me to either call back or have my attorney call back and if one of us didn't then "good luck."  It took a couple of hours this afternoon to get someone to answer.  When someone did answer, he sounded just like the "Michael Davis" who left the message.  Person answering said he couldn't find me in the computer and didn't know why I was called.  Since they had called me at work, I was ticked and asked to speak to someone else.  The "supervisor" put on the phone said his name was "Michael Anderson" and sounded just like the other guy, except much nastier.  I tried speaking calmly, but could get no information.  Getting mad didn't help either...the guy ***g up on me about six times even though I never used foul languange.  I only tried to get information on why they were calling me since I don't have any outstanding debt payments.  He wanted me to give him the last 4 digits of my social security number, which of course I refused.  He really got mad when I threatened to turn him in to the Texas Attorney General's office since that's where I live.  I never did get any information.  I'm almost positive I was given false names, since everyone I spoke to sounded like they were from the middle east or India.  In Texas it is illegal for a debt collector not to give the correct name.  Anyway, I'd like to know if anyone else has had issues with these people.

I'VE BEEN SEAR****G THIS WEB SITE AND THESE PEOPLE HAVE MANY PHONE NUMBERS UNDER THIS COMPANY WITH COMPLAINTS. GO UNDER MANY NAMES ECT WITH THE PERSONS WHO CALL U AT HOME ECT. IMPERSONATION LAW OFFICIALS OR ATTORNEYS IS A FEDERAL CRIME. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION, SSI#'S, BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION ECT.  THIS ARE ILLEGAL DEBT BUYERS OR SOME HOW ARE SEAR****G THE AREA OF A FORMER PERSON WHO OWES A DEBT AND WILL SEARCH LETS SAY. IF YOU LIVE IN (LA) AND THERE ARE 5 KNOWN ( JOHN PIPS) WITH IN THE AREA AND THEY ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH THAT NAME . THEY WILL CALL ALL THOSE PEOPLE ATTEMPTING TO HAVE SOMEONE WITH THAT NAME PAY OFF THAT PERSONS DEBT EVEN IF ITS NOT THEIRS. IF THEY HAVE YOUR SSI, BANK INFORMATION THEY MIGHT HAVE BOUGHT IT OFF LINE WHICH IS LEGAL BUT BAD. THIS IS MAJOR PART OF THE ILLEGAL SCAM.
