That I was going to be charged with a crime****ociated with my SS number, might really get an old person to call back and give out their number.
This was a caller with a foreign accent stating that he worked for the US government and that my name was selected to receive a grant for over $14,000. The original phone number was 202-854-0247. A man with a foreign accent said that he worked for the US Dept of Health and Human Services and that I was selected to receive a $14,000 grant. I never applied for a grant. He tried to verify my address and email. The zip code he provided was not accurate. He should have known that it was wrong since he supposedly worked for the US government. The accent sounded from India or ****stan or some other middle eastern country. So I knew his name wasn’t Shane Harper. I was su****ious and asked for a phone number that I could call for verification that he worked for the government. He told me to call 213-640-3021 and that they would have the call transferred to him. When I called this number they said that Shane Harper would call me back. This man also had a thick accent possibly from the Middle East. I could here many voices in the back ground talking to others on the phone like when telemarketers call. This appears to be a scam to obtain personal identifying information. I tried to call the original number back being 202-854-0247 and the call wouldn’t go through.

This number comes up on my caller I.D. as Royal Bus Bank Very many calls from that number but no one there!
This is a scam. I received a call with a CallerID of "Ticketmaster". When I answered, I heard a gentleman with a strong Indian (or similar) accent introduce himself as being from Windows Operating System Support and that my computer was sending out lots of error messages. I requested an identifiable piece of technical data - a MAC address or a computer name - and he s****ed to read back my home address. I said "No, please provide me with a MAC address or computer name so that I know this is not a scam." He ***g up.
