Now, let's think about this.  1st time I call Dataside, the receptionist (who sounded amazingly like the telemarketer who had just called) says it's not them, someone has hacked into their phone system and is making the calls.  She also said their company has nothing to do with phone/ computer systems...  So, I Google them, go to THEIR website, and find their business has everything to do with phone/ computer systems...  Then I get the name of their CEO -- from THEIR website -- and find his phone # online.  I call him, and he says he no longer works there and knows nothing about this and a***n tells me their company has nothing to do with phone/ computer systems.  So I a***n call Dataside (after hours), and I get his voicemail saying he's away from his desk, leave a message --not that he no longer works there.  Everywhere I've worked you're out of the voice-mail/ e-mail systems the day you leave.  Very sloppy business/ security at best, especially considering the type of business.  So, I sent an e-mail to Aaron @ Dataside with a copy of my 1st comments, telling him not to ever contact me a***n.  And now they are being "s****ed", a misnomer one might expect from an amateur, but these people are supposed to be experts in tech/ telecommunications security...  The whole idea behind s****ing a legit company is using the name & phone number of a company that actually has so****ing to do with what you claim to be offering so when the person receiving the call checks caller ID or *69 it looks legit and will give you their personal info.  The s****er wants you to have that phone number/ company name.  I don't have caller ID, and when I called *69, the number was blocked.  I had to have my phone company trace it.  Definitely not how s****ing works -- unless they got s****ed by a *****.  Every time I'm ready to give Dataside the benefit of doubt, I have to wonder why multiple employees insist their business has nothing to do with what it clearly does.  If you have nothing to hide, tell the truth, and quit c****ing the story.  This gives new meaning to "I misspoke".  The only thing making the "s****ing" claim believable is that in Texas and Florida, s****ing is actually semi-legal.  You can legally select what name/ phone # you want caller ID to show, no questions asked.  Federal legislation making it illegal has passed in the House and is pending in the Senate.  I don't know what the truth is here.  I just know that it's time to get rid of my land phone and the parasites who misuse it.

Spoke w/my brother, a mathematician recently retired from HP, one of Dataside's clients/tenants in their super-duper hi-security, hi-tech facilities.  He, personally, has never heard of Dataside. He went to Dataside's website and asked why I would have any interest in them.  He said, they PROBABLY are not directly involved in the phone solicitation.  It is possible but not likely the calls are coming from one of their tenants/ within their facility.  Most likely they are just totally incompetent *****s who claim to be hi-tech/ security professionals and don't have the ***ins to conduct their business on secure phone lines.  And they know it's been happening and haven't c****ed their phone number/ sloppy ways.  They may have compromised the security of all their customers.  (My brother has been telecommuting, i.e., working from home via computer/ phone/ teleconference for years.  He uses a SECURE HP PHONE LINE, not his home or personal cell phone or pc.  He won't even check his work e-mail from my house/a hotel... while on vacation.) What tech company would do business with these idiots? my brother asked.  My answer:  HP.Also, I filed a complaint with the FTC/ Do not call registry.  They don't even investigate/ pursue any complaints unless many, many people complain about a phone number/ business.  I just hope Dataside's clients/****ential clients see these blogs and check into how secure they are/ what business info... may have been discussed/ carried through that non-secure phone line... that very likely has been hacked into by some untouchable person/ company in Africa, Asia... DUH!!!A***n, the folks at Dataside probably are not the heinous telemarketers.  They are probably just ******/ inept.  I'm not sure that's better, esp. considering what they do.  I'm not supposed to contact them a***n now that I have a pending complaint, but I hope they read this and c****e their phones/ tell their customers their security may have been breached.

We need to do more than filing a complaint with the "no call list".  This is my 2nd, and I've never heard anything back from them.  (Probably just another agency like the FDA... whose funding has been gutted and diverted elsewhere by our current administration.)  I guess it pales in comparison to lead-painted toddler toys and poison pet food, but it is beyond annoying.  I've been home sick all week, 102 fever, sore throat... -- and they have called, waking me multiple times.  I finally got their number.  Amazingly, the person who answered said someone has tapped into their phone lines and is making those calls, not them.  She gave me a case #08-c-00004353 with the "no call" registry.  Then, I went on-line and googled Dataside.  They provide  shared hi-security/ hi-tech networking solutions and office ****e for telecommunication, internet... companies,  you know, like those computer- generated phone solicitors. At best, they are incompetent *****s if they are in that type of business and can't figure out who is using their phone lines.  However, I suspect they or one of their customers are making the calls -- and they know it.  Call them and harass them back.  Keep their phone lines *******.  Call the Dallas BBB, and report them.  I worked 25+ years in social services and consumer protection.  You will find most of these calls come from Texas and, more recently also Florida.  This is because those states harbor and protect them.  (Texas has also long been known as the "deadbeat dad" state, where you can go to avoid paying child support.)Call their state and federal legislators and let them know how you don't appreciate their protecting these parasites.  Call your state's attorney general and see if they have a state agency that has more teeth than the FTC's no-call registry.  Many states do.Oh, and the CEO of Dataside is James deVenny.  His home phone number is (972) 931-2556.  He says he no longer works there (not what the internet and his office voice-mail say) and they only deal with building ****e, nothing with phones/ internet/ computer systems --  not at all what their website says.  Give him a call, too.

I pressed "9", asked why they were calling a number on the federal DNC list.  "CLICK"   they didn't want to talk.I reported them on the FTC web site.  Everyone should report them... the more complaints, the more likely so****ing will be done.

Recording said press 9 to lower credit card payments.  Waited for an opt out number to press but none seemed to be coming so I pressed 9.  Operator wanted to know what kind of credit card I wanted to lower the rate on.  I said none.  I just want to be put on your do not call list.She responded "there is no do not call list, the do not call list is don't press 9" and ***g up.Dataside sure seems like they'd be a nice company to do business with!
