Leave a CommentThere is so****ing very wrong about calls coming from this number. Not only is this number registered to a woman in Dallas, Texas, but.....it is also listed as the cell phone number of the Business Development Manager of a company called Gov. Connection. According to the business webpage, the focus of this company is to fulfill the unique specialized IT needs of federal, state and local governments and academic ins***utions (K-12 and higher education.....). It is highly unlikely that this man is using his cell phone to randomly call people all over the country pushing medical (menopausal) products. If you discover that your phone number has been s****ed (hi-jacked) like this man and/or the woman in the prior post, report it to your local authorities, your state attorney's office and the Federal Communications Commission, requesting an investigation into the s****ing scheme. Caller ID s****ing is prohibited by the Federal Communications Commission and the Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009. It is punishable by up to a 10,000 fine per violation. But, there is no chance in cat****g these scammers unless we report their crimes.
I believe that this is a SCAM phone call. I googled the phone number and it is currently registered to a woman who lives in Dallas, Texas (Grand Prairie area). It is extremely unlikely that this woman is calling people randomly all over the country peddling medical (i.e. menopausal) and pharmaceutical products. The BBB published an article in the past year warning of scams that involve the scammer using the phone numbers of regular people and small businesses in the hopes of tricking the person into picking up the phone (thinking that the phone number in the caller ID is legitimate). The scammers have hijacked the phone numbers of all sorts of businesses recently: florists, child care center, carpet businesses, family business in Tampa, FL, and dozens of phone numbers registered to individual people including very elderly men and women. The BBB mentioned another scam currently being used......s****ing the phone number of the people they call. The idea is that the person is supposed to be so shocked at seeing their own phone number in the caller ID, that they will pick up just out of curiousity. Don't pick up. Caller ID s****ing is prohibited according to the Federal Communications Commission and the Truth in Caller ID Act of 2009 and punishable by up to a 10,000 fine per violation. If your discover that your phone number is being s****ed, report it to the local authorities and your state attorney's office and the Federal Trade Communications Commission, requesting an investigation into the s****ing scheme.
