It's a calling card number, that anyone can purchase to call long distance from a land line

Apparently we have another caller who is a nusiance they need to stop these kinds of calls, there should be a system by which you could stop them the first time.

This company IDL has a program that inmates can use to call their friends and family without calling collect and at a cheaper rate when they set up an account. So that is how I saw this number when a family member called from a detention center but no charge or credit card request either.

Recently received a phone call from this number

dude sounded weird. called a few times over the past couple of days.. knew he wasn't legit. called back and got busy tone. did a google search and found all this.. scary

Called at 3:45 in the morning, I was sleeping, but there was an operator's voice mail message left asking me to accept a collect call from this number. When the computer operator came to the part about would I accept a collect call from __________ he never entered his name.

Don't know who this person is and they won't stop calling and i told them not to call a***n.

I received a call from the above telephone number at 7:07am on 6/23/10. I did not answer because I was busy fixing dinner. I let the answering ma****e pick it up but no one left a message. I do not know anyone in Texas. I will not answer this call if it ever comes up on my caller ID a***n, could be some creep/pervert if they cannot leave a message. If this call was legit then a message would have been left. How they got my number is strange since I pay every month to have my number unlisted.

Call said it was a rep from the IRS. I ***g up due to it being a recording. I called the number back from a business phone and no one ever answered. Sounds like a SCAM.

this is actually an update. Inmates @ facilities federal and state are forced to go through calling companies the prison contracts out phone service to. Derrick Fontaine died during the Xmas week in prison. He is not the owner, but a customer of the phone company. the call will come through the 214 area code because it is routed through the company's phone line. Good luck and it is not DERRICK FONTAINE SINCE DEC. 2009.

Call came at 1240 AM. Wife answered. Caller gave her the first name of a family member. Claimed the family member is calling collect and wanted credit card information to complete a transaction. ***g up when the information wasn't given. Family member has cell phone and no reason to call collect.

I got this call today at 2:00 P.M. It was on my answering ma****e. It was my grandson who is in military training in Pa. Everytime I call it back it is busy or just rings. How can 20 different places have the same phone number.

I received a collect call from this number yes****ay twice, the first time it did not specify who the call was from and asked for credit info to accept call. I ***g up and it rang a second time but this time my daughters voice and name was on recorded message specifying who was making the collect call, it is a payphone in Ohio where my daughter called from when she got to the airport. It does ask for credit card information or a billable address in order to accept the call. Only accepted upon hearing daughter on other end.

Had information concerning brother in hospital.Claimed he was phone company. Had brothers correct name and claimed that my cell phone (the number he called) did not accept collect calls so needed a credit card number to charge the phone call to. When I asked for the number of the phone my brother was using he stated that the "party" had ***g up. Irony of this was I was expecting a call from a hospital in PA where my brother was undergoing heart surgery at the time.

I received a phone call from this area, but I do not know anyone in this area and no voicemail was left.

Collect call: We receive 2 or 3 collect calls in a row, usually about 6pm EST. The name used is different every time. It's been happening every couple days for the last 2 weeks.

The call type isent listed so i typed it hear; collect call. i recived this call at 5:04 pm e.s.t. and the caller id read; IDL COMM (214)969-5489 and scince i have relitives in dallas tx., i thot at 1st it could be one of them but they all know to use THERE full name on the recording. The creepy thing was the voice on the recording sounded like me!!! *****.??? i saw this guy on the history channel on tv before, HE IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED!!! BE WARNED!!! I called the lake eiri ***nch of the F.B.I. to report it scince it seemed like none of you called them yet and gave them the information and they made a recorded note of it and told me if he calls back 1 more time to call them and they would do so****ing about it. I strongly encourge you all to call them and make a report so he dosent get away with it. Oddly anoff,(and i am in no way racist, just interested in history,) i was wat****g a do***entry on the history of the *****. when i got the call,lol. (thot you all would get a giggle from that,lol. A guy keeps calling me saying he knows me. He keeps calling until I answer the phone from a blocked number and this 214-969-5489, and he says his name is Nick. His called me over twenty times in the last week.

This will come to you as a collect call. I got a call from it saying it was a collect call from my mom. It had my mom's voice saying it was from her. I thought it was weird that it asked for my credit card too. It was from a pay phone in Clovis, CA. Don't freak out if you read this article and are missing a loved one, like I did. My mom just locked her keys/phone in her car and was trying to reach someone using a pay phone. When I called back I just got a busy signal too. No worries, it's just someone who actually has your phone number memorized and needs to get ahold of you!

I got a number from my sons Dad I have looked everywhere it on the internet to find out where he was calling from because he is not to be near me or my son... I found it was in Dallas TX which is really weird to me, and he called my cell phone knowing I can't accept collect calls on it anyways. He didn't call the house or anything, I don't know it was just really weird, and he called at 2am.

However did not know the number so i did not answer it.My daughter has received an phone call from this number as well on her phone. The person calling is an alleged psychiatric patient. He is not, he is trying to stay out of prison by any means and now is doing it as an alleged psychiatric patient. His NYSID # is 1409627Y; I also complained to the physciatric center from which he calls someone who then calls from the above # as a 3-way call/collect call.
