Leave a CommentAs everyone else I received a call saying they wanted review information on a online application I did. They did leave a voice and when I called back the lady on the other end stated their system was down. When I ask her from where she was calling from she stated she was in Central Florida. I see above the phone is out of PHILADELPHIA, PA. After reading all of the above I will not be calling back. Thanks to everyone here who has left this information to help the rest of us. Sincerely Annette O
I received a call this morning @ 9:55 from Employment Select. When I first answered my phone the call appeared to be a recording. The call continue on with a young lady who said her name was Tiffany who was calling in reference to a job application that I had applied to and that the company they represented was confidential. Their message states that they are verifying information based on a job application that I filled out online. The recording continue to please hold for a person to verified the information. (I should have known better, but I have applied online for several jobs). Well, I held on for about two minutes and I then spoke to a real person. She told me her name, (probably a phonie one). She wanted to verify my number so that she could pull up my application. God, I could kick myself in the **** for not thinking fastest but they called me they should have it. She wanted to verify my name, and address and did I have a alternative phone number and could I received text messages at one of the numbers. She was calling concerning the office manager's position that I had applied for back in April. I told her that I had not applied for a office manager's position but a position with the court. At that time, she just wanted to know was I interested in continuing higher educational. She continue the conversation that another interviewer would contact me in a few days. I feel like a big dumbie I just fell for that line of bull. But just like everyone else we all are looking for decent jobs. The ad that I responded to appeared on CareerBuilders and Hotjobs and still does at Hotjobs but when you try to reponse to the ad at Hotjobs they have a notice that the job is no longer available. I hope Hotjobs and CareerBuilders are made aware of the situation going on.
I just got a call from the SAME number this morning and I too am in the job market. But I don't know how they got my cell number since I didn't give it out as my contact number. =[ Hmmmm very odd. There was a voicemail left surprisingly but it must have been cut off in the beginning somewhere cause it said, "application within the week. blah blah blah. Hold for next available agent." I didn't apply to an out of state job. Well I won't be wasting my time calling this number back.
received message about a job.i will not call back.this is out of state/city.
I ******ly fell for an ad on Craigs List in Minneapolis for a Legal Coordinator position. I got a call from the number to verify information. After waiting for about 3 minutes a man came on the line but I told him it was not a good time as I was at work. He said I could call the number back later. Needless to say I will not be calling back. This is just great. Anyway, I flagged the ad so hopefully it will be removed and no one else will fall for this like I did. I know better (usually) but am just really desperate to get a new job!
just recieved a call from this number - as a number of you have stated, i too am on the job ***t, and that must be where this is from. somewhere on my voicmail it said "application with a week" blah blah --- i know i haven't applied to anywhere out of state! annoying...
I also applied for a job on craig's list and now I am receiving **** up calls from this number as well. I did a little research and the number is a mobile phone through Omnipoint Communications Enterprise located in PHILADELPHIA, PA.
this number keeps calling me and ****ing up and then they call and ask if i want to work from home online and it's $100.00 to s**** and $87.00 each month therafter this is bull s**t i'm so tired of it and they keep calling no matter how many times i ask them to remove my number i don't get it.
A call came into my cellphone during work - anyone who knows me, knows to call at work during the day. Didn't answer and immediately "Googled" the phone number. Seems I have been ****ed into the "online job posting" scam as others in these posts. I have been applying to an online job for a week now - though this is the first phone call.
Comes up as private number and they don't leave a message. I don't answer calls unless I know who they are. Good thing I didn't. Thanks to everyone for their information!
Ever since placing a job want ad on CRAIGS LIST, my cell phone has been busy with phone calls from telemarketers. Also as a result of the ad, I get many many emails with the same pitch. Also, stay away from FREE GOVERNMENT GRANT MONEY they are all scams, and they also pass your email info to other scammers.
I hate that I fell for this. My husband was looking for a job and we hit "APPLY-NOW".It was $18.00 an hour in Manufacturing, when it sounds too good to be true IT IS! He got a call and they said they were out of Orlando, FL. Wanted to know if he had text mess. and about doing stuff on the computer, my husband said no text and no to computers, only my wife does that!Hah hah! I hope this has saved him from some kind of scam. We won't be answering any more phone calls unless we know the number!
Verifying employment? I wonder what we all had to click on that would direct us to such. Online job database? We're all looking for jobs within the last 10 days I'm****uming? Or are enrolled in an online school - personally I have and am, so am unsure where everyone else is.
Their message states that they are verifying information based on a job application I filled out within the week. However, the calls have been dropped 3x. I went through process and can conclude with reasonable certainty that it's a telemarketing firm for "online educational learning" Two questions were asked that stopped the conversation rather short. "do I have a PC connected to the internet at home" and "Am I interested in continuing my education".
I normally don't answer calls I don't know. After looking at all of this I am glad I didn't.
They called me to tell me via recorder that they are reviewing my application. I'm NOT even sure what they are talking about.
The company called my phone July 21st at 11:36 am I answer and they ask questions like how long have you been in customer service and how long did you keep each job. They also told me some one would be back in touch with me. DO not fall for it.Called back and the recording says they screen employees for thousands of postions. Then after waiting they **** up.
It just figures that I am looking for a job and well this number shows up and no voicemail. If someone really wants to talk to you, they'll leave a number. #2 I am getting emails from companies (mass emails) that are labeled in the terms of "if interested please apply here" so I (reluctantly) click it (assuming its a webiste regarding the company...???) and it asks if I'm interested in receiving information on owning a business and furthering my education... ***! Why would I want to do that? Im applying for a job, not college and I certainly don't want to own my own corp... aggrivating internet lol
Caller asked if I remembered applying for an on-line security position in June 2008. Verified my on-line applicaion and offered $25-$50 an hour. I was supposed to register on their website, but the website has had an error for 3 weeks now. I don't know if this is really a legitimate businness or not. as of today July 23. 2008, no one has called to verify or offer any job.
Great to read the feedback I too got a call....no message...will not use craigs list....I have not in the past I have used other avenues...so it seems to be more of a widespread problem
got a call from (215) 207-0069 , no message ... i too have been applying for work on craiglist, this is discouraging and very aggravating
Got a call from this number (215) 207-0069 and had a message saying my application was under review and to hols for an****istant. Since it was on Voice Mail obviously there was no****istant. It definately seems like a SCAM!!! I agree with earlier posts....it is a shame unscrupulous people would prey on the jobless and needy.
I received a call from this same number, and I too have been applying for jobs on Craigslist!! These people need to be stopped!! I wonder how many "fake" companies now have my information!!! This is def. a SCAM!!BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN SENDING OUT YOUR INFO ON CRAIGSLIST! IT SEEMS LIKE 85% OF THE JOB LISTING ARE A CROCK!!
got a call from the same number. i, too, ******ly applied for a "local" job thru craigslist and i have since found out the company is a scam. please beware when you use craigslist and get that "verification" email asking to go to a website and provide more info (including answering questions about higher education, credit scores, etc). i can't believe i fell for so****ing like this. i contacted the bureau of consumer protection and they told me to file an online complaint at www.ftc.gov and i would encourage everyone else to do the same. i have also put my credit on fraud alert just in case. how irritating.
Yes... I got the same call and I think I know how they get our information. I remember applying for a job a few weeks back in Houston (online). They got back with me and it turned out the "job" wasn't even local. It was in Utah. They emailed me wanting me to fill out an online "screening" survey (due to an "overwhelming response" to their "ad") which seemed more like a screening for people interested in distance/online learning at which point I s****ed to suspect it was just a gim**** and did not pursue it further. Now that I am getting calls about a job I supposedly applied for within the last week. I haven't applied for a non-tea****g job for several weeks and my last application was turned in two weeks ago. Definately a SCAM and I am very ****ed that they are feeding on the jobless. Someone needs to find them and throw them in a nice 6 x 8 cell. BE AWARE, they could be s****ing this number (faking the caller ID). SCAM!!! SCAM!!! SCAM!!! stay away!
The phone number is a follow-up to job applications received on www.quickstrikecareers.com. This is a website similiar to Monster and HotJobs though not nearly as developed. They also ask about a billion times if you want to get a higher degree or receive insurance info.
Didn't answer and they left no voicemail. Like mentioned in some of the above posts, I have also applied for various jobs online through craigslist...I have a feeling this may just be a scam.
called the # back it is a place that verifies employment.....but also asks you if you would like to do online schooling....get the feeling scam. Unfortunately some online jobs you apply for give no name just a place to apply. So, maybe they are verifying for jobs, probably not.
Got a recorded message about a job application I submitted last week. Can't find any information on the owner of the number
caller ID: Name Unknown
didn't answer it. no voicemail left.
