Leave a CommentThey have called me twice now in the past week from this number. I have caller ID so I don't answer calls that i don't recognize or that I know to be telemarketers. My phone number is listed with the "Do Not Call" list so why are these people not recognizing this and moving on to some other scam?
I call foul on your statements.
This is a company that is hired by the government and other officals to take American survey questions. They are trying to reach American households, and not businesses. They are a legit company, and are not selling anything. The do not call list are for companies selling. This doesn't apply to surveys etc. They will pay you if you take part in a focus group. The names are real, the people are real. And don't worry, they aren't trying to scam you in any way.
Got several calls, even on weekends. I think they may be fishing for iden***ies to match to a number. The DOT would not call on weekends, nor would they call back 15 times for a survey. In addition to the fact that I am no where near PA. There is more to this than meets the eye, or ear as it would be.This is message: "Hello, My name is Irvine. I'm calling on behalf of the U. S. Department of Transportation. This is not a sales call. We're conducting a national study of Americans driving habits recent driving experiences. We'll try to call a***n later.Only left message once, now just calls and **** ups.
Call my Google Voice on March 1, 2010 @ 9:10am PDT and left a message:"Hello, My name is Irvine. I'm calling on behalf of the U. S. Department of Transportation. This is not a sales call. We're conducting a national study of Americans driving habits recent driving experiences. We'll try to call a***n later, but you may also call us toll, free number 1(800) 600-5438 to parti****te now or to schedule an interview. Interviews are available Monday through Sunday between 11 AM and 11 PM Eastern Time. Thank you."
They've called me twice now. Always on my cell which is on the do not call list. They want me to reply to a survey and offer $5.00. I tell them that I'm not interested but they call back. No voice mail left but they did claim to be representing the DOT.
Another call from these idiots on 2/1/2010 at 8:00 p.m., ***g up on my answering ma****e.
This is who they are:M. Davis and Company, Inc. www.mdavisco.com 1520 Locust Street, Third Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19102 USA Prin****l RepresentativeMorris R. [email protected], PA USA
Received two calls five minutes apart at 8:00 p.m. on 1/18/2010. Did not answer either call, but a female with a strong accent left a message on the second call saying it was a Dept. of Transportation survey and not a sales call. Left a number of 800-600-5438 if I wanted to complete the survey, which I do not. I am on the Do Not Call registry and have an unlisted number. I also doubt it is a survey for a Federal agency.
They have called my phone 3 or 4 times. I finally answered. Caller wanted to know if I was driving, then if I was in a safe place to talk, then asked if I was the only person to answer this phone. I said I reverse looked up his number and he said that was his place of business - I then hing up. They still call but I set my BB to silent custom tone for them.
My call was similar to RKA: "I'm calling from the DOT...five dollars to complete a survey...may I ask if you are currently driving?" I replied "I don't do surveys, this is my place of business". Thye ***g up. Got another call last night and they ***g up before I could speak. Got another call today, ignored it. I'm in California, not PA. My cell is on the no call list. Who can we complain to?
Got a similar call:Male voice: "I'm calling from the DOT, and would like to offer you five dollars to complete a simple survey. I know I am calling you on a cell phone so first, may I ask if you are currently driving?"Me: "No. May I ask that you send me an email regarding this survey?"Phone call sounded cut off, followed by ringing. I ***g up.This is the second false pretense call like this in about two months.
1/2/10 - (Call from 215-790-8900 - INC AND DAVIS AND) I answered the call with my business name. The person asked if this was a business and when I said "Yes", they said, "Sorry to bother you" and ***g up. ...Apparently they are targeting households.
it took me a min. to get to the phone and they ***g up as I answered but I did not know the name therefore, I did not call back. I have had 2 a day and just want them to quite calling ( also on do not call list)
These people call every day and **** up. I am on the do not call list.
Ask if it was a business phone
They are listed as a Marketing Group and they keep calling me for a "survey" for the "Department of Transporation." Their website is www.mdavisco.com. They do a wide variety of projects, including transportation. I am nowhere near the Philadelphia area or the area they claim to be resear****g. If we begin contacting them and filing ocmplaints, it may help. The people listed at that number and address are: M. Davis, Guy Dunn and Joe Mandell. I have no idea if they are real names. two other names****ociated with the proprty are "Manochi Lightman" and "Kornilowicz Lightman." There are no listings for them in the Philadelphia area.
Rang once and ***g up! Another law breaker, I presume. We are on the "do not call list."
They have called 2 times each evening on 3 separate evenings. They say they are from the dept. of urban housing or so****ing. They have been told we are on the do not call list and have a listed number and still they call
several annoying calls
They've called twice this evening. We didn't answer, but it caused our answering ma****e to turn on. You then hear ringing and then apparently they **** up.
