Checked Beneficial Bank's website based in Philadelphia and they are warning people a***nst this text phishing scam

Got a text on 1-19-14 telling me to call beneficial bank, I called and they ask for my SS #, so I ***g up. I call a***n on 1-20-14, the message states the number in a none-working number.

Just got text. Have no accounts w/ them. Scammers! Also getting constant phone calls from credit card company (does not say which one) offering to reduce interest rate all on recorded message. We carry no balance on cards. All phishing. We block the phone number & the call on another number. Beware!

text was "contact beneficial bank department". My wife got the same text minutes later.

this is a scam. Beneficial has an alert on their website warning not to call or text back

I just googled "benefical phishing scam" and a**** the results was an official website by the real bbeneficial bank warning people of this obvious phishing scam. I encourage everyone to visit this website and read what beneficial bank has to say about this phishing scam for peace of mind.

Received a text to call the above number on 1/191/14 9:04 EST. I call the number to hear a ma****e generated voice that notifies me that my debit card will be shut down due to a technical error....I don't have any accounts at this bank. It asked me to enter my SSN. sounds like a scam. do not do this!

They sent me a text asking me to contact beneficial bank. No accounts with them, ever. Total scam.

Just relieved a text from this # and I don't have a beneficial account. Hey a real job! You scammer!

Received text - Called back and they wanted my SSN#

Got sent a text saying to contact T****neficialBank department at this number

Checked Beneficial's site. They have a notice cautioning about this phishing scam.

Sent text to contact BeneficialBank Department. Obviously spam and fishing for a call back.

Got a text from [email protected] saying: Call 215.825.5683

Sent text asking me to call regarding Beneficial Bank. I have no accounts with Beneficial. Some type of scam.

Called me to enter my card number.
