Leave a CommentGot a call today from "Anderson INvestigations". Said there was a summons. They woke me up, it sounded like a scam, and I figured if not they would call back. So I ***g up.They called back and left a message. "Cassandra Bowman" was calling. She was an investigator. My case number was TRS3799. There was a summons from "my county" which might issue in a warrant. I should call her at 216-373-1464 or 866-544-8397.So I s****ed googling varioius things and found this site.
I recieved a voice message from someone saying she is Karen Anderson and I was named as a respondent in a civil complaint. She left this number and a 1-866-544-8397 number. She also left a summons # and said to reply as this is time sensitive and a warrant can be issued. When I called the 216 number I got a recording anserwing as "investigations bureau". I did not leave a message. The 866 number did not have voice mailI recently had my wallet stolen, and after googling this number and seeing what others have wrote, I think it is an attempt to scare folks into giving out pesonal data. I have no reason to think a civil complaint would be filed a***nst me, and even if it was for some reason, wouldn't they send a summons to your home mail or with a carrier?I will call a***n tomorrow to see what info they are trying to get, but beware if someone calls with this tactic. The caller ID number was different than the number she gave me to call back. It shows as 216-373-1461.
Someone from this number also called me same spew.No doubt this number is from Robert Goldstein &****ociates as all the same perfomances match up. At the s**** of our phone call they mentioned a past debt that I owedon a provoidian credit card which was paid 5 years ago. They then stated that the collection agency that I paid the money to was fraudulent (sorryspelling is very poor) and unless I paid them $650.00 they would issuea warrent for my arrest and that providian was pressing charges .They were very professional and kind and I totaly believed them to the point of chest pains.I then gave them an electronic check which they said they would fax ****e legal do***ents (no fax arrived) After 4 hours waiting for the fax I got suspisious googled the phonenumber and found you guys. Thank God .I proceeded to my bank first thing this morning and stopped payment on the check plus notified them as to what was happening and what I had found on line.Robert Goldstein &****ociates is listied with the BBB and according to themthey are looking for them. After writing this I will issue another complaint with the BBB plus contactprovidian and let them know what was going on.Just a theory:As mentioned above I did pay this debt several years earlier. Who ever th**** knew my old account numbers from when the check was paid years ago. There has to be a prominant collection agency that most of these card carriers go through and someone****occiated with Robert Goldstein &****ociates could be a possible employee or x employee of that credit collection agency this could not be standard phishing not to have infothat they had.
Another "civil complaint; you've been named as respondent" call connected with 216-373-**** and 216-393-****, I'm guessing from Robert Goldstein &****ociates in Independence, OH, as mentioned in other posts. My caller ID said: Unknown Name, 216-373-1464Message left: The caller's name was given as Kelly Anderson (she did not spell it), who called herself "a special investigator", and the number to respond to was 216-393-0456. Left a "summons number" to refer to.I called that number. Twice got a recording s****ing, "you've reached the Investigations Bureau". Third try, answered "Litigations". I gave him the summons number and was put on hold."Investigator Mark Bishop" picked up and got the summons number from me a***n, and put me on hold for some time. When he came back, he was prepared with the last 4 digits of the Social Security number and an address for the debtor. He seemed very reluctant to end the phone call when I told him we weren't worried about a summons that would go to an address we'd never heard of, for a person who shares part of my husband's very common name. Threw around a bunch more scary terms about summons and litigation, and referred at some point to "settling this before it gets to that". He was, however, unfailingly polite, and repeated his name clearly for me to get back to him.
