repeated calls from the number. I have not picked it up recently, but have gotten other calls, in the past,  from supposed police groups wanting money.

How can you watch your language when you get a call from this place and it's some pervert on the phone breathing heavy and saying disgusting stuff??  Someone really  needs to check this number out and prohibit them from calling others with such poor behavior.  And saying they are with the Police Protective Fund at that.

10/13/2010 1pm called and ***g up, probably a computer testing to see if a live body is at home.  Will probably get a warm body call with in an hour asking for money.  Hate that charities can call DNC listed numbers, but since political campaignes are non-profits, they won't c****e that law.

They just called me and said they were calling for the Police Protective Fund and I told him we were unable to make donations at this time.  He asked if we were having a hard time and I said "Isn't everyone?" Then he said all they were asking was $15 and that they could send it to me and I could send it back at a later date.  I told him I wanted to talk to the Jerome Police Department first.  Then hae asked if I had access to a computer and that I could check them out on policeusa.com.   I said thank you and ***g up.  It seems to me that there has been warnings out about this outfit for awhile.

A local person just reported to this office (Sheriff's Office) someone at this number claimed to be seeking donations for fallen officers fund. Subject ***g up when questioned further by complainant.

This is a scam for donations. now blocked by my phone company.

Scam.  I read stories about this kind of call.  Some will confirm your phone#, then link it to their scam to do any harmful thing to you.  Some will make thinking c****e, then your bank etc. can't contact you, then this con artist will still you money, iden***y etc.  Be extremely careful.

I called this number back after finding this website and it did let me go to a voicemail inbox and I left a message telling them to remove me from their calling list. Time will tell if it worked.

Identified themselves as Police Protective Fund and told me that 100% of the contribution goes to the charity. They, according to the caller, have no telemarketing costs due to the fact that all callers are volunteers. This is obviously not true because there are more expenses than just salaries involved in collecting money for a charity. So didn't trust him right off the bat. Internet searches confirmed that there is a lot of untruths being told by this organization. Beware.

i am looking for a girl in MISSOURI. A friend there was out of town. She had a lot of messages from this number/  217 3038800.  This person said that he was a DETECTIVE from child abuse and protective services. I did call the number and it did say Police Protection..and leave a message. So, i don't know what is going on. We are looking for a girl in ROLLA (we think).  This number is from Springfield and Sangamon County. It is listed with K mc Telecom v Inell. i may have spelled a few things wrong. I did a reverse lookup on this number.Hum! Looks like there is so****ing to do with the police. Maybe they are raising money for abused women/kids. I would call the Better Business Bureau before I did any donating. FYI. I hope this helps.

Have had two calls from the number 2173038800 in the last two hours.  My answer ma****e kicks in but no one will leave a message.  If I don't know the number/name, I don't answer the phone.

The Police Protection Fund called a***n under a different number. I told them they were a scam and to not call me, but the rude operator claimed they were legit and threatened to call me a***n.

they said they we collecting money for a charity that provides money for the children of police officers who dies in the line of duty. but after talking to them and asking the to mail me information about the charity they ***g up. this is a scam
