Here is what I don't understand............. if these people really want you to call them back and really want to collect the debt............. why don't they try treating people with some human decency and kindness. They might find that if they show some kindness and compassion, people will actually try to work with them and maybe they will "make their quota". That's all this is to them, make their numbers so they get a good performance review or a commission or whatever. They act so superior when talking to you, like they have never had an outstanding debt in their life.......... considering the nature of their work... I would bet this job was the absolute last resort when they became unemployed from their REAL job and had resort to being paid to harrass people. Here is what I have found..... they are actually not very bright people, a little simple minded and they take their pathetic job very seriously. It somehow makes them feel very important and powerful........ they leave messages like "you MUST call me IMMEDIATELY" ooooohhh REALLY?! You leave a message and you don't say where you are calling from or what it's about, but I am supposed to just rush to call you? I think not!! What I have to admit that I enjoy is getting on the phone with these simple minded collectors and mess with them. Laugh at them, point out how serious they are taking their $10 per hour job, ask them if they lose sleep over your debt at night because they sure seem to be taking it personal, etc. etc. They are pathetic.... I guess just feel sorry for them and be thankful that you don't have to do that for a living! But then if you ever do have to resort to doing collection work for a living.....remember your experiences and be kind and compassionate.
"Hi Ashley this is Jessica, call me back at __________" such number. I have gotten calls from different people calling me Ashley over the last year I ignore every call and they call back weeks later asking will I show up to the meeting on Sunday. Want to comfirm plans for Sa****ay. Camping is going to be great. Since they never call back and speak to me right away they just leave messages, I have not gotten to tell them they have the wrong number. I don't know what to do. Just called back and find its some place called Varsity Collections. I am not aware of any debt either.
Range collection Bureau
They call you at work and don't care if you tell them you cannot take personal calls regarding anything outside of work. Kind of ironic. If you lose your job then they will never get paid. It's like they enjoy the harras*****t. They really don't care about your story or life. Just remember most of us in this type of situation are decent people who have hard times to work through. Don't let them make you feel like you are a criminal or your "bad". Your NOT. This number is another ruthless collection call. Just **** up and don't verify ANYTHING to them!
I've attempted to settle my debts in good faith with collection agencies and I am finding many of them to be a scam, to make a profit for themselves! I paid one agency $400, whom they were supposed to forward to US Bank and apparently they never paid that to them for my debt. My auto debits stopped, after I made a reduced payment plan with this agency.I contacted them by mail, e-mail and phone. NO REPONSE. But, I checked their website and they say I still owe the orginal amount plus have referred my account to an attorney. WHF! I choose now to deal with payments to my orginal creditor. These charged off or past due closed debts and accounts are getting passed around to several collection agencies in order to make money.Beware. I sure would like to know how AT & T gave them my cell phone number, since this year-I've been getting an increased amount of calls from collection agencies. This 218-263-8888 left a voice mail and I MUST CALL THEM.
Same thing, but added her last name as Anderson. I read somewhere just a second ago that it might be RCB collections--usually with medical bills.
Debt Collection Agency. TOTAL HARASSMENT! Don't take their calls unless you want to get taken to the cleaners. You're better off making an arrangement on your own terms.
I'm pretty sure it's about bounced checks. I believe they're a collection agency. Dodge at your own risk.
Got a call. She left a message. It just said, "This is Jessica, it's important that you call me". She did not identify a company that she was with. Anyone have more information?
