Got a call them said nothing when I answered

This number called and asked for a name of someone who does not live with me. They then asked if I knew that person and it was my ex-husband. I called back and got customer service and asked how they would get my home #****ociated with my ex-husband, who I have been divorced from for over 10 years. The customer service rep said my # would be removed. When I asked the name of the company calling, she either said ARS or AIS. When I asked what kind of company it was, she said she could only remove my # from the call list and then ***g up on me.

collection agency?  wanted me to verify a birthdate that was not mine, but had my namecould not understand what co. she said she represented.
