Leave a CommentJR called me to tell me I was the lucky winner of a 2009 Ford Explorer I called the number back 219-381-8971. I researched thru the phone company and came across this page. JR called me back and I grilled him and also let him know that I filed a complaint with the FTC. He said they are based out of Chicago and this is his part time job. He couldn't tell me how he came across my # and took me off of his calling list.
Got a voicemail from JR yes****ay, called it back today left a message. he called back and saidwithin the last 90 days I entered at the mall or an automotive show or a festival (Have not attended any). He said he jsut needed to know if the number he called was the best way to reach me and asked my marital status. When he said "Do you have any questions?" I said "Yeah is this a scam?". He said "I haven't asked you for any personal info, so****wwould it be a scam?" I said "Why are you calling from Indiana for a contest happening in Nevada?"........He said I am guarunteed to win one of 3 grand prizes 2008 Ford Explorer, Cashiers Check for $2500, 3 day 2 night trip or a 27 inch TV. I would be contacted in the next 30 daysAnyone know what the actual scam is???
In Vegas too. JR asked me if the number he called was the best way to reach me, and my marital status. Gave the conf # MDIJJM041. I asekd if it was a scam he said how could it be if he didn't ask any personaly info? I asked why he was calling from Indiana for a contect held in Vegas. He said his comapny handles contests for the west coast. Told me I'd hear from them in 30 days. What exactly is the scam? Anyone know? Or is it jsut to capture the one long distance call? What did he get?$1.25? He can have it.....
Got a call tonight from JR, also saying I had won a 2008 Ford Explorer, and that it was important to call back within 48 hours. He left a claim number, and also the 219-381-8971 number. Tried to call back, but only got a voicemail. Sort of thought it could be true, as I enter sweeps every day, but kind of got the feeling that it might be some kind of timeshare thing or so****ing. Glad to see the other postings before getting my hopes up!
JR is at it a***n, he called and left a message informing me that I had indeed won a Ford Explorer. I have 48 hours to call him back at the TOLL FREE number 219-381-8971...How ****** do these people think I am. I will be reporting this number to the Federal Do Not Call registery.
just received the same call I also live in las vegas thought I would just punch in the number on the internet and found you guys. same name jr and won ford explorer and 3 other prizes. my number was VIGJM041
I'm also in Las Vegas, but it came up as indiana call on my i.d. and it was a call from J.R. I didnt answer but they left message stating I had won a 2008 Ford Explorer with the same confirmation number.
First of all, Don't insult our intelligence! Second, I never entered any sweepstakes so how could I be a winner! Third, There is only one actual winning listed and tons listing fraud. If you think you are so hot PUT IT ON THE TODAY SHOW! and prove everyone else wrong.
I received a call similar to these and it was from a 219 area code and the number to call back was 888-223-6955. My name is Jennifer too and they called me Jen, and they told me that my roommate was my significant other which tipped me off...
Man, they must have a bunch of Ford Explorers to give away...I wonder if I can pick the color?!
Received the message today from JR at the Prize Claim Center. Wanted me to call the "toll free" number. Only it was a 219 area code. I also won a new 2008 Ford Explorer with the prize claim number of MD1JJM041. WOW... same as everyone else... I called the number and it was also a voice mail for JR. Didn't leave a message. I'm sure its a scam since I've read numerous postings on a lot of message boards regarding this same number. Beware Vegas!!
I'm in Las Vegas, NV, and got a call from the same "J.R." I also was told I had won a 2008 Ford Explorer and three other grand prizes, and I also got the same confirmation number.
I got the same call in Nevada I won 3 prizes Confirm #MD1JJMO41Imagine That!!!
Yeah, I got a call from Nevada here... said I won "...a grand prize OR one of the other prizes offered"Gave me a conf# MD1JJM041Right, like I'm gonna give em the time of day
Baby just fell asleep and phone rang. King Jencelyn at 219.381.8971. No reply when I said "hello." Rude scammers.
I received the same call a couple days ago as Jessica with surprisingly the same prize number. hmmm...He just called back saying that I had filled out a entry form for a sweepstakes, but just needed to verify if I was married or single. He didn't ask any other questions. Just said that the finalist drawing would be in the next thirty days and I would be receiving a call back to let me know what of the four possible prizes I had won. So we'll see. I'll report back what happens.
Recieved a message from JR saying I won a Ford Explorer and 3 other grand prizes. He said my prize number was MVIJJM041 and told me to call a toll free number of (219) 381-8971. First of all that area code is out of Indiana not toll free and when I called it I got a message with JR on it saying he was not at his desk but to leave a message. I didn't I figure it is just another scam. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is!
just got a call from this number, i answered (in armenian to throw them for a loop) and no response...... *******s!!!!! Rot in*****!!!!!
we also just received a call saying we won a 2008 Ford Explorer and left a loooooog identificaton nuber on vioce maail and said to call back in 48 hours for a additional prize.Gave a toll free number that he stumbled over giving
Hey they call me and I actually went to the show and I walked away with a free trip Cancun Mexico so thanks to all you dumb a**es for not going. I wish I could get calls like this all the time. What a bunch of dummies ****. Oh yeah stop signing up for stuff if you don't want them to call you and tell you, you have won how else are the suppose to get in contact with you. What can you expect from a bunch of ******s duh.
We also received this call saying we won a 2008 Ford Explorer. Jenn instead of Jennifer issue too. Got to love the scammers. Maybe ther dialing ma****e only knows how to call people named Jenn.
I got a missed call from this number the other day. Caller ID said "King J". No msg was left. I am in Seattle Washington!
Thanks for posting, everyone. I got the same call from J.R. Did he say his number was toll-free in his message to you, lol?Think of the elderly people who don't keep track of these things, which area codes are toll-free, it may not register as an immediate cue to them.Call back was 1-219-381-8971.
I just got the call from this number and the guy was JR as well, only a woman left the message on my voice mail. I too was called Jenn, but I always use Jennifer for official things. The people are GEO HOLIDAY timeshares and they want you to sit through a 90 minute marketing thing so that you can draw for one of 4 major prizes ranging from a ford explorer to a flat screen tv. After seeing the other Jenn K. on here, it makes me think that our entries into contests go into a database, then they call us in alphabetical order because we all have "won" a major prize.
I just received this same from good old JR calling to say I had a chance to win a Ford Explorer or other prizes. I listened to the guy because I went to a wedding show earlier this year and entered to win a ton of stuff but listened without getting too excited. The guy never asked for any personal information other then my name he just talked about the prizes I could win. Then he told me there were times I had to go to a presentation and I just figured it was for a Time Share. I did a backwards address look up on the location they said the meeting would take place and the suite number doesn't eve exsist in the building. I'm so glade that I know how to use the Net.
I got the same call. The message couldn't really be made out except that it was a grand prize of some sort and to call the 219-381-8971. It was a ma****e or JR. Also saw that this is a scam - and as I am in the Denver metro area...no need to go any further with this. Thanks for the posts, it helps when there is info online.
I got a recording when I picked up the phone and it told me that it was prize center and the I had entered to win a 2008 Ford Explorer or one of 3 other prizes and that I had been selected. It then told me to press 1 to speak with someone regarding this urgent matter (which I did) or to call back asap. I pressed 1 and was sent to JR's voicemail. The first thing that tipped me off was that the recording referred to me as Jenn..when ever give my name for so****ing like a sweepstakes I use Jennifer (as it's my legal name). Second that it was a recording that sent me to a voicemail...and then the guy had all my info wrong. Wrong age group, wrong income ***cket. Also told me that the second drawing wasn't going to take place until May 25th which seemed like a long time to wait. After sear****g online I found the name of the company. It's called WinNet.
call back number is: 866-551-4946;Lincoln Navigator; BillReceived a voice message from Christina Lee with the State of CA informing me that I had won a Lincoln Navigator. My winning ticket had been selected on line and I needed to call my prize coordinator immediately because this was a very time sensitive matter. Message told me to call 866-551-4946. This number gets you to a voice message that informs the caller that Bill is not at his desk, but it is a very time sensitive matter, so leave your direct contact information and Bill will get back to you in 5 minutes. From the above posts, looks like this is a serious scam. This was posted at 800 notes phone number 866-551-4946
Some dude named JR left a message saying I had won a Lincoln Navigator. Said I had won a contest that I had signed up for. Nooooooooooooo! I think he would have a better chance saying I have won a hybrid car. Who wants to drive one of those huge SUVs that you can't afford to put gas in anyway. Don't fall for this scam. Reading on other sites that this scam if prevelant in Denver area. Always check on the internet if it sounds too good to be true.
Got a message from someone who goes by JR at 219-381-8971. Stated that I had won a Lincoln Navigator. Read on some other web sites that this is a scam going around especially in the Denver area. Come on, give me a hybrid car not a huge SUV that you can't afford to put gas in anyway! Don't fall for it. Always check numbers on line. The internet is powerful so use it.
