Leave a CommentThis # keeps calling me 2-3x a day with no messages left. I've called it back several times, and I get an Asian-sounding recording, stating, "You are calling from (and it says my phone #). If you would like to remove this #, press 1. If you would like to add another # press 2). Once you enter either your # or another #, it states, "Your # has been removed". It never says what "company" or "person" you have reached. They still keep calling.
I got this call when I was cleaning my backpack. And I didnt awnser it since it was unknown number. They didnt leave a voicemail. I heard it was a scam to get money. I hate getting calls. Then I got this cal from "Univaliable" I awnsered and they asked May I speak to your mom and dad then I ***g up.
Recieved a call from this number 8:00 pm 2/24/10. Person said that I won a cruise and directed me to their website, www.ustravelgroup.info (either this is a cover for their scam, or they're hiding behind a legitimate website). Said they were calling from Illinios, the called ID name came up as Frederick. Wanted to charge me $93/person to take the "free" cruise of my choice, to cover "taxes". Wanted to take my name, home address, E-mail address, and my credit card number BEFORE they passed me to Quality****urance to verify all the information. I asked them to hold and he ***g up on me. What else can I do to help stop this scam from continuing?
Missed a call from this number...****uming that I just missed my big cruise opportunity. :P
yup, thanks for these original comments. Totally a scam
I just googled this number and found this thread while they were calling me. Everything above that has been said is accurate.
Any idea who could call from this phone number.
Calling offering cruises--exactly as described above. These guys aren't even bothering to be tricky about their scams... so lazy an unoriginal. Everyone knows it's ****e...
This call is coming from India. Some how they are high jacking the ph #240-699-8910. This is a scam do not give them any of your personal information, **** up and call your phone provider to block the number if needed. They are calling cell phones so that should give you a clear sign they are not legit telemarketers. When you call the number you will get a recording from someone with a heavy foreign accent.
Caller advised that I had won a cruise on my choice of lines (such as Carnival and Princess). He continued that it was from a Chicago area travel agency. Caller would not send hard-copy information via mail or e-mail, but said that I could take the cruise anytime in the next 18 months, all travel paid, but with taxes at my expense. Taxes were $92 per person and had to be paid via credit card on the phone during this call. No hard copy, curious call origination, no memory of entering a contest, and hard-sell insistence that I act now: NO DICE!
