Got a call from them this morning, they left a long message saying there is so****ing wrong with our account with CIBC (none of is are with CIBC).  Called at 6:30 AM!  Ridiculous!

I received 3 calls from this number today, 11:30am, 1pm and 2:30pm.I didn't answer the call, I checked the number then found this site.I live in the 250 area and my carrier is Bell.  I was wondering if this is the case for everyone else posting here.  What would be the proper procedure to go about stopping unwanted possible scam calls?

Called at 8:55am this morning, I didn't answer and when I tried calling it back I got a message saying 'this number has been disconnected or is no longer in service.'  Judging by what everyone else has said, it sounds like a scam, so if they call back I'm going to get as much info as possible from them and report it.

Just got a call from the number 250-412-8397. Answered and when there was no response after about a minute of me repeating "hello" I ***g up. Tried to call the number back and got the message that the number is out of service. Sounds like it's some sort of scam / bogus number.

got a call from a person claiming he was from CIBC. he asked my birthdate and postal code and said the call was being recorded. He then said he could see what he could do for with my account. he asked if I could confirm my last purchase and I said no. then he said sorry for the inconvience.

This number has been calling me for a week now multiple times a day no message left and if you call the number back it is not in service im going to freaking loose it!

Just called at 1:54pm today, the caller didn't leave a message. When i called the number back about 5 minutes later, the phone number was 'disconnected'.

Male called and said from CIBC Bank and said wanted to help me find ways of lowering my costs. When I refused to give info and told him that CIBC states on their website that they will NEVER call and ask for personal info, the gentlemen became rather angry. I then said good evening and ***g up. SCAM. Never give out personal info over the phone.

Got a call from 250-412-8397, on December 26th 2007, at 2:04pm, on my cell phone.  I didn't answer it, and they didn't leave a message.

I just noticed a missed call on my cell from this same number.  I came at 8:42pm PT. No message left and came upon this site when trying to find out who called me.

Caller claimed to be from CIBC, said he had to do a survey. He knew my name as well as my wife's. He asked for my postal code and date of birth to confirm my identification. I gave it to him because he sounded legit enough and I mean, what could you do with that info? Pretty much as soon as he got that, he made an excuse to go and that he would call back when my wife was home. I tried to call the number back because it was a little fishy, and it said that it was unregistered, etc... Now I'm a little worried. I traced the number on line and it belongs to Star Distribution or so****ing like that. Probably some telemarketing ****.

I have been receiving calls from this number on my cell - they never leave a message and when I answer there is noone there.

recieved 2 calls from this number and they ***g up both times, then *69 them and called back said this number is disconnected or out of service.

*69 will report the number 250-412-8397, but call it back and a recording says the number is out of service or disconnected.
