Leave a CommentJust had the same Ned Harrison email me over the last couple of days. A***n, asking for quotes on merchandise and said he was good with he price $10,500. He wanted it shipped to an address in New Zealand and wanted me to contact [email protected] for shipping. Well not wanting to ship via any other carrier than my own I told him who I use for shipping and asked if Westline had any other contact info other than an email address. I became su****ious and began sear****g the internet to see if anyone else had info on this. Same email address, same name. Have not made it to the payment process on anything at this time and won't be doing so.
A man named Ned Harrison e-mailed me and wanted to buy some saw blades. He wanted to nowwhat kind of saw blades we sold. After I e-mailed the information, he e-mailed me back and wantedto know the cost of 50 saw blades(nice order). So i e-mailed him back with a sum of $5,750.00. Then he e-mailed me back and wanted to know the freight to ship them to New Zealand, with a certain shipper (westline shippers). They sent me an e-mail back with a price. In the e-mail it said i had to paythe freight $3,900.00. Sent Ned an e-mail back telling him the price. He then phoned me and gave mea credit card #. Thinking this is to good to be true checked the credit card and the name and phone #{(251)428-4091 found they do not matched. Sent an e-mail to ned telling him that, he asked for the #ack to make sure i had the right number. Have not heard back from Ned Harrison ph # (251)428 4091e-mail address is nedltdgmail.com
THIS IS A SCAM. This is a version of the overpayment scam http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt014.shtm where so****ing is your sale item or your services and the overpayment is a fake cashier's check, or stolen credit/debit card, or stolen electronic funds into your bank account and you have to Western Union the excess $amount back to the scammer or his accomplice (movers, shipping agent, 3rd-party in another state, etc.). If you give your bank account info, the scammers can empty it. Wired-cash is irretrievable - once it's picked up at the other end, it's untraceable and gone. If they want you to call them up for instructions, they may tell you not to discuss the wire with Western Union desk clerks but the real reason is WU clerks are familiar with these scams and will warn you not to wire the money. You may also face prosecution for passing a bad check or money laundering. Report to US Postal Service Inspectors https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate.
A man named Doc Wilson called and wanted to purchase some furniture for $8000 to be shipped to Denmark. After we charged his card, we were supposed to pay the shipping company that he chose for shipping. Of course we didn't do that, contacted the bank and they said that name on the card and phone number doesn't match and that it's a scam. His email [email protected]
