Leave a CommentWord of advise... just **** up and do not give them any information
I received a call at work from a John Smith. He said he was an attorney that was working on a case of mines from a debt collector. He said he could not give me any information but to have my attorney call and he will fax everything. I am having this investigated.
I really thought I had heard the end of these scam artists when I asked for their law license. I asked them to please arrest me so I could meet them in a court of law as I was going to counter sue for harrassment and stalking. They have called me numerous times both at work and home. I really am considering getting my phone number c****ed but I so don't want to. I have screamed into the phone at them. Read legal statements etc. I am going to follow the advice of LAMET and do all that the post says regarding filing complaints. These people even accused staff where I work of being **********s.
Representative claims that I owe for a payday loan and they have all my personal info. They state that I am going to be arrested if I do not pay. I asked for this to be in writing and they said they could not do this. Eventually told me to shut up and ***g up the phone.
They left a message on my phone, for someone else that i dont even know. I called them and told them I was the person they were looking for and they gave me that persons social, bank account number, the bank they use, where they work, a contact person with their phone number, their address, drivers license number, and all kinds of other stuff. This is scary that they so openly handed out some unknowing persons information. If I were a thief I could have easily stolen someones iden***y just now. I finally told them I wasn't the person they were looking for but I was that persons attorney and they just broke about 6 different federal laws and they ***g up. I have tried calling them back about 10 times and it just goes to a voicemail box that is full. Whatever you do don't give them any information and don't fall for anything they say. How they got your information I have no idea, maybe you applied for a credit card or payday loan. In any case they are trying to rob you and you need to report these people so they can have charges held a***nst them. Good luck.
Got a call from that number. They say I owe money for a payday loan but I never got a payday loan they called me once and I question them and they never called back a***n.

I received a call from this number with a heavy indian accent as well and they left me a threatening voice mail saying " if you don't return my call I feel sorry for you and wish you good luck" I called back only to be accused of never repaying a loan that I NEVER took out. A***n, they had my SS # and address. Kept saying I will get served court papers. SCAM!!!
My friend just received a call from this number and they left her a message, stating that this is a legal matter and we're taking steps to sue she do not give them a call back...once the phone number was called and spoke with a Craig, and she did inform Craig that if they are to call her number a***n she will take steps to contact the authorities, Craig then disconnected that call and she called back and asks what was there company name and he refused...this is really bad and if someone dont know about this they will give out there account information to the fraudelent company,.... they are being investigated
I have been receiving calls from these people all day long saying the same stuff that i owed them 870 dollars and i dont pay im going to get arrested in my job .i asked them for information about them including how to spell his name and he didnt want to give me he said his name was robert kaith but had a heavy indian accent .he was telling me i was gonna get fire from my job and to s**** looking for one .dont give them any info is a scam
Just received a call from these scammers... this one (woman with an incredibly heavy Indian accent) telling me her name is Ursula Davis (uh huh.. sure....). Same old script..Do these people ever give up?
These scammers left a message on my answering ma****e threatening me with legal prosecution for a debt. Upon calling back, the person I talked with (Craig) asked me to verify personal information. I answered very little, but what he had was correct. He would not give information on his company and claimed that I took a loan out with Payday Cash Network over the internet that was never paid back. He said it could be solved out of court. At this time I asked him to give me a contact number for the loan agency, which he refused. He kept asking why I never paid the loan back. I kept telling that I didn't take this loan. This went on until he finally ***g up on me. After calling back, he immediately ***g up. Tracing his number I was only able to locate it in Kent, Washington. Payday Cash Network websites today are non functional on the internet. Just a coincidence? A complaint has been filed with the Attorney General.
Received a phone call from this number stating that I would be arrested tomorrow if I didn't pay $861. They put the"Attorney General of California" on the line telling me I owed the money. They wanted me to write a letter, stating that I owed them the money with my driver's license and it had to be notarized. These people are scam artists who caused me great grief and ruined my day!

The Better Business Bureau issued an alert today saying consumers across the country are getting phone calls from bogus debt collectors claiming default on a payday loan. Of course, the consumer needs to pay a large fee to avoid arrest -- as much as $1,000.The caller poses as a lawyer, and may threaten extradition to face trial if the consumer doesn't pay up immediately. What makes these calls alarming -- and perhaps convincing -- is that the perpetrators reference the consumer's personal information, such as the person's Social Security number, driver's license number, previous bank account numbers, home address -- even personal references."The amount of information they have is really troubling," says BBB spokeswoman Alison Southwick. She adds that the amount of data points to a possible security breach.Spread the word to your friends and family: Don't give out personal or financial information to an unknown caller. Scammers can s**** Caller ID to display different numbers, so trust your instincts over technology. The BBB offers these tips:• Ask the debt collector to provide official do***entation which substantiates the debt. • Do not provide or confirm any bank account, credit card or other personal information over the phone until you have confirmed the legitimacy of the call. • File a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission online if the caller is abusive, uses threats or otherwise violates federal telemarketing laws or the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. • File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau online if you believe a debt collector is trying to scam you.
