I have had this number call 3 times now and it’s sounds automated, but also like it could possibly be an actual person. It’s a man’s voice that says “This is Amazon confirming a $9**.** Charge on your account, press 1 to confirm or press 2 to decline!” The voice sounds foreign and the local exc****e is nothing close to any numbers in this area. I have ***g up on this number every time now, however it’s a little concerning as we have family members who live in this area and it’s not them, but I have used my tablet and phone out there on several occasions. They are calling our landline, which is in no way****ociated with this number. I have checked my account balance every time they have called and it has no charges from Amazon on it, except for the stuff I have purchased. I don’t know if it’s someone s****ing a legitimate number or if it’s a burner phone. I’m going to call Amazon and check to make sure no one is trying to get into my account and pass along the number. When I try to call the number back it’s says “The number you have called is no longer in service” and it shows that the number is coming from a local grocery store parking lot in the region where it originates. So, I’m 100% sure it’s a scam. I have just ***g up on them every time. My Amazon account is protected with a two factor identification process, but I still worry that it could be compromised. It’s getting to where you can not use computers, tablets or iPhones! Apple doesn’t seem to care and neither does Microsoft, so it’s pointless to try to reason with them both! This is exactly what I was told by a retired Computer Technician in 2014, and I think he was absolutely correct, just off by a few years.
