Leave a CommentScam - Impersonating Microsoft Windows Technical Department trying to ***n remote access to computer to "uninstall trojan viruses."
This is not the first time they called. I asked for his name and number he said "James Franklin" at 281.201.0307, but the caller ID said 801.772.3102 "Transcom Enhanc..." and he did not sound like he should have a name from the western hemisphere. I said I was rebooting my computer and it was at 17% installing vital windows updates, he waited on the phone for over 15 minutes when he switched me to a supervisor. I said I was at 53% and wondered how he knew it was this computer, since I had 3 computers, how did he know which one had the virus? I never registered my phone number with my version of windows, and never signed up for tech support. He kept saying that my computer was sending them information but could not tell me my IP address. I kept saying my computer was updating, and he finally just pulled the plug.
Same as "concerned" stated. Using ploy as techs claiming their sever is receiving information from your computer. Must have a virus! Need to get information from you so they can correct the virus. Right-NO! It's all a scam so don't give any out.
Got a call from this number and they said that they needed to help us remove a virus on the C drive of our Windows computer. Obviously they wanted access to our private information.
