Called about some returned check. I went ahead with the call and talked to “counsel” check was from a bank I’ve never done business with. I haven’t even written a check in 10 years, and when they tried to verify the last 4 of my ssn it was close but not right. I think it’s a scam

Sounds like a scheme attempting to get a call back in order to get information.
