She was coordinating a hotel for a domestic abuse case for a month there and 3 children. I would receive money back. Scamed

I also fell for this scam and felt so badly for this family that was allegedly escaping domestic violence.

I fell for the same domestic violence scam as others described above. The woman at this number claimed to be arranging a safe hotel room for the family and needed $163. In Houston.

Same as the other posts below. She is a horrible person because she makes it harder for those to get help who actually need it. Do not help this woman - it's a scam.

This woman (Megan Hill) coordinated with with a single mother who came with her 3 children looking for help fleeing a domestic violence situation. The caller said they could help find her a shelter if we purchased a hotel room for her, food, and a car. Police were called but the woman (Jessica) fled before police arrived,****entially sensing that we were on to the scam.

I WAS SCAMMED!!! HUMBLE TX AREA 01/01/2023. I was approached by a woman and 4 kids was homeless. Needed $163 hotel and money for food. I ******ly gave her $180, my car insurance money. Because I truly felt bad for this family. I never thought people would use their own kids to do so****ing like this to others. They have very well planned out. Needs to be taken too the news!!! The police even stopped to check on this lady. I will be making this public. I hope others will too.

Same as what others reported. African-american woman with 4 children, claimed to be fleeing domestic violence situation, asked for help finding a shelter with beds. There is a phone number which when you call corroborates the story. Total scam.

My mother had the exact same experience as the other two commenters. A women with 4 children in a mini van approached her and said that she was fleeing an abusive husband. She asked for $160 to pay a deposit on a motel room. The woman gave my mother this phone number to call and said it was "Helping Hands". My mother spoke to a woman named Megan who corroborated the false story.

Echoing the above user comment. I was stopped by the woman in the van with 4 kids and was asked by her to call this phone number to help her find a place to seek refuge. Same ask for $160 cash to get her to a safe house. Horrible.

This number is a 2-part scam where a single mom is living in her van w her kids to escape an abusive husband. This phone number pretends to be a help line for abused women & needed $160 “cash” to hold a room. They can only hold it for 1 hr & will not reveal who they’re****ociated with “to protect the abused wife”. Total scam!! Beware!!
