Leave a CommentIt may be worth your time to read that the better business bureau does NOT even consider the TX FOP to be a CHARITY! So the fact that they are calling in mass quan***ies bordering on harassment and presenting themselves as such (though they may not use the word "charity" based on their s***ch anyone would describe them as such) is just plain wrong. http://www.bbb.org/bryan/business-reviews/pol ... yan-tx-90002459In addition on the BBB link it will also provide the info on the warning that the TX atty general's office issused regarding donating to organizations claiming to benefit public safety officers. What is the biggest shame of all in this is that they are tarnishing the badge and if those who are even the strongest supporters of law enforcement are turned off to donating to the larger solicitation groups when called because trust has been undermined - one has to question what they have done to the trust in law enforcement period! Law Enforcement is one of those professions in which trust is nearly sacred and to no longer be able to TRUST law enforcement or those calling on their behalf and being able to take them at their word, does serious damage to the reputation of their ability to do their work on the street as well... it makes you just a little less likely to trust them and take them at their word because your only interaction may have been the non-stop harassing, not-so truthful and honest phone calls with the Texas Fraternal Order of Police in the past several months or years for some... I wish they would recognize the damage they are doing to their badge and that the other agencies would pressure them to stop these under-handed, bullying tactics that I believe are predatory. If you are receiving multiple calls and harassing calls, or calls which are mis-representing what they do or can do a complaint should be filed with the Texas Attorney Generals Office - http://www.oag.state.tx.us/consumer/nonprofits.shtml
I think our local telephone line providers should allow us ten free inbound block calls that we can program on our lines to make up for those non profit organizations who abuse the laws and love to harrass us anytime they want..if they can call us.. we can block them
281-763-7522 is calling to help the Texas Fraternal Order of Police with their fundraising efforts. I called the number back and was directed to their customer service department. They can answer your questions, help with donating, etc. You can also go to texasfop.org for more information or to contact them. The FOP are doing great things to help police officers and their families.
Texas FOP also using 940-295-1889. This is a land-line probably from a call-center in the Bartonville, Texas area. Total disregard for do-not-call lists, businesses or homes. Ignore request to stop calling, continue on with conversation or, my favorite, "I cannot hear you." Complete losers - Way to go Texas Fraternal Order of Police - You could stop this if you wanted to.
email from my local police dept:Telephone scammers saying they are soliciting donations for the “Texas Fraternal Order of Police” are calling.Do not give them anything but simply **** up as they are not a legitimate charitable organization. They may give some small amount to a police group but it is usually less than 1% of the amounts donated.Stop scammers. If you didn’t call them first, don’t do business with them or give them anything.Sign up for the Texas & Federal Do not Call Lists.Texas: www.texasnocall.com/Federal: www.donotcall.gov
This number called me today for the Texas State Fraternal Order for Police. Whatever. Anyway, after receiving 2-3 calls a day for the past year from very similiar organizations, (Puppy Patrol Law Enforcement, Iraq Vets, etc) I finally called my local police department to file harassment charges. To my dismay, I learned that if they are with a supposed non-profit, the "do not call" doesn't apply. Also, I learned that they can call under all of these various organizations as long as they are giving as little as 5% to them. I finally filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office. I was told I was un-American when I said no to the Vets and when I told him to stop bugging me, he yelled "STOP BUGGING ME!" and ***g up on me! If you are being harassed, please file a complaint. Do it for the grandma's and grandpa's out there that finally give in just so the people will leave them alone.
This number is used for fundraising for the Texas Fraternal order of Police. We are raising money to help our officers. If you have any questions, please call the number on your call id and you will be directed to our customer service department. You can also go to our website at www.texasfop.org.

This is clearly a computer-generated call. When I asked a question, my question was ignored and the dialogue continued. I don't care how good this cause is - I resent the ****od!!

My phone no. is listed on the do not call list. Why do I continue to receive telemarking calls?
Caller asked for me by my first name and if I was home, I said she speaking and they ***g the phone up. I dialed the number back and a recording comes on stating it is the Tx.Police and to hold on. As you hold a recording comes back on and says because of a high call volume to continue to hold. I then ***g up.
I do not do any type of business over the phone ,, sure glad when I answer no one on their end spoke up....so I just ***g up.... I went ahead and blocked number on my phone...
I thought all those calls for the TX FOP were not ligit. Is there a difference?
Got this phone call, said it was from Houston Police Dept, I called backand was put on hold for 2 to 5 minutes. Got called later on, he was wantingmoney, soliciting funds, I told him I wasn't interested, and got very veryagitated, then ***g up. Got another call later on that day, till I told him, I wasn't interested, he refused to identify himself. I wanted his boss,he got angrier said he wasn't available and ***g up. Being harassed by thosewho want donations are sure are rude! Putting guilt trips and just being rudeto people isn't the way to get money. :( Go to the website of the:https://www.donotcall.gov/ This "should" help block unwanted calls. Get the numbers of those harassingyou and submit this number. Have the operator listen in just in case, orreport to your phone company, or the Texas Public Utilities Commission:http://www.puc.state.tx.us/
Never, Never answer a call from callers you don't know. Use caller ID. If I don't recognize the name or number, I don't answer, period.
Just got a call from this number. Googled and like I figured, it's not legit. Wish there was a way to stop these ****s from calling.
FTC to ban most telemarketing 'robocalls' Sept. 1
I got a call from this number as well, only I wasn't home. I tried looking up who the number belonged to but all I could get was that it was an unregistered lan line.
Got a call from them. I don't ever do anything over the phone. I told em "NO" and they thanked me for my time and that was it. I did check into it and called the State FOP office. It is legit i guess. So it is a call from the Texas State Fraternal Order of Police.
I guess this is the Texas FOP. They were nice on the call. I called the state Texas FOP office and confirmed it was them. So it is legit. i just hate telemarketing calls though.
